eCommerce Logistics
You can find them in every German pedestrian zone: the shoe
shops with the green logo. But Deichmann, the leading shoe
retailer from Germany, is not only running its business in its
home country. They are expanding all over Europe; with own
shops as well as online shops.
Starting situation
'In Spain we managed a pretty successful start into the eCommerce business. We are glad that we can rely on Hellmann as a
flexible and powerful partner.'
Corinna Comberg | Project Manager | Deichmann
In 2014 Deichmann planned to start their online shop for Portugal and
Spain. To provide its Portuguese and Spanish customers the same service quality as in other European countries, Deichmann was looking for
a strong and flexible partner who takes over the logistics part within
this project.
Solution
Since December 2014 Hellmann Worldwide Logistics manages
the eCommere warehouse for Deichmann in Madrid.
Up to 25,000 pairs of shoes, bags, accessories and care products
are stored in the 750 square meter shelving system.
To use the warehouse space as efficiently as possible, the shoes
are stored chaotically on mixed storage locations.
After receiving the order, the articles are picked, packed and
made ready for collection by the parcel service provider during
the workday.
In addition to the conventional eCommerce services, Deichmann
decided to take the next step forward on the way to their
multi-channel strategy and started the 'ship-to-home'-service in
2016. By using this service, customers can order their shoes
which are not available in the proper size, in the stores and
they will be directly shipped to home. Hellmann is strongly supporting Deichmann in achieving their goals within their multichannel strategy.
