In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby “ 6 Welcome and Thank You Dear Friends and Families of St. Brendan, Once again we are here, supporting and celebrating our school at our 12th annual Dinner and Auction! I am honored to welcome you all to GATSBY… First, I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the role our principal Ms. Lang has had in the development of our school. Her leaving marks the end of an era here at St. Brendan’s. I know we will all come to appreciate her even more when we try to fill the void that she will leave. In her 25 years here, she has been a mentor, leader and supporter to all our children. Many of us have additional personal reasons for our gratitude, and we extend special thanks for her caring and dedication. Thank you for all you have done and all you have taught the children. We send our very best wishes for a happy retirement! The St. Brendan’s family is also truly blessed with a dedicated faculty and staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, parishioners, and community members. Each of these people have donated their time, talents and resources – all for the benefit of our school and parish. I want to thank this incredible group for your continued support of our school. Our Auction Committee consists of 21 committed individuals, all of whom have volunteered countless devoted hours toward the success of this evening. My extreme heartfelt gratitude goes out to each and every one of you! Your support, leadership and patience is what has made this a truly wonderful experience and ultimately successful event for St. Brendan’s. I would also like to extend my thanks to your families, along with my own, for their support and patience during the past year of preparation. In addition, I would like to profusely thank all the families, and friends of our parish and school community who contributed to this event. Whether by volunteering your time, working here this weekend or making a donation of cash or auction items, without you, this event would not exist. My thanks also goes to our sponsors, local businesses and organizations, for the contributions to this event. Their donations of goods or services extending to our auction items and production of the evening, is also what makes our event incredibly successful. Please thank them by patronizing and supporting their businesses whenever possible. Finally, my thanks to you, our guests, for your excitement, your participation and your financial support of St. Brendan School. “Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss” – F. Scott Fitzgerald, GATSBY. DON’T miss your opportunity – bid now, bid high, and bid often! The countdown clock will be started ten minutes prior to the close of the table. A flashing light on a table will indicate that it is in the final ten minutes of closing and the running clock will indicate the time remaining. For the last 2 minute, bids will be placed into a bid basket at $5 increments and will be sorted and posted when the time is up. No bids will be accepted after the countdown ends. The highest bid when the auction is declared closed is the winning bidder. REDEMPTION Check-out will begin after the close of all of the silent auction tables.
