Multiple Moms Mingle mom, MaryAnne Abernethy, tells us
about her terrific triplet daughters and their recent
decision to cut their beautiful locks.
The girls donated 29 inches of hair to Pantene's Beautiful
Lengths. Erin and Molly donated ten inches and Riley
donated nine inches. We decided to do it now, because
one of our family members was just diagnosed with
Breast Cancer, and thought it would be a nice tribute to
her! I brought the girls to my hairdresser, Sue O'Brien,
and brought plastic zip-bags for each girl. I mailed them
to Pantene and they sent a nice letter thanking the girls
for their donation and a tribute card for our family
member!

it will show you how to donate. We chose Pantene
because there are no costs for the wigs and the minimum
length is eight inches! The girls were so excited about
their hair making wigs for people who needed them!

Did you happen to watch the episode of Law and Order
SVU that aired on February 5, 2014? The episode
entitled “Wednesday’s Child” was the acting debut of
our own Elizabeth Rose’s twin girls,
(Mackensie and Maddison). We had a few questions
for Elizabeth about this exciting experience. Take a
look at what she had to say.
Recently your twin baby girls appeared in an
episode of Law & Order SVU. How did that come
about?
Another club member, Amanda Chriest first posted on
the MMM site that the talent agency her boys worked
for was looking for 3 month old twins for an
appearance on Law and Order. I responded to the
talent agency but never heard back from them. A
week or so later, Kelly Carter posted on the club
Facebook page that a representative from Law and
Order contacted her directly looking for identical 3
month old twins. Kelly had posted his contact
information so I emailed him directly with the girl’s
information and pictures. That information was sent
to production and they called me after the girls were
accepted.

months old when I joined

a big sister, and served on planning committee
for the Adult Holiday Party

HOW DID YOU FIND MMM: I was approached by a
former member while pregnant. Took me a while
to decide to join.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE CLUB:
The life long friends I have made (you know who
you are girls!)
YOU'D BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ... My husband
and I were actually married twice in one day!

How long did you have to be in New York City for the filming of
the episode?
We were only in NYC for the day. Infants are only allowed to film
2 hours a day so they space their call times so that they can
actually film for 4 hours (2 hours each). So we got there around
12:00 and left a little after 4:00. They shot all of their scenes
back to back. They told us that they prefer to shoot all in one day
because they have to hire a pediatric nurse for anyone under the
age of one, so it is cheaper for them that way.
Did you get to meet all of the shows stars? Were they nice?
We were able to meet a few of the actors (only the ones in our
scenes). Mariska Hargitay (Det. Olivia Benson) is super nice (and
pretty)! She complimented the babies for being so good. We also
met Kelly Giddish (Det. Amanda Rollins). She talked us through the
scene and explained how she wouldn’t be pointing her gun at the
girls and how it was fake. They were both very sweet!
Is it something you would do again in the future? Was it a good
experience?
I had a great time! I took a lot of pictures because the girls
obviously won’t remember, but I think it was a great experience.
I was a little disappointed with a few things but the experience
itself made up for it! The pay we discussed was not what we
received and they also got paid different amounts. I tried several
times to get in contact with someone about this but no one
returned my emails for phone calls. I think we would definitely do
it again but I would ask more questions ahead of time and get a
main contact person.

We offer a "Big Sister" to paid MMM
members that are pregnant and/or are
new moms of multiples during the first 3
months after giving birth. We pair you up
with a member that has multiples like you
have (or will have). The idea is for the big
sister to check in with her little sister
often— to offer support, advice, help,
etc. as needed. Then she reports to the
group at each meeting on how her "little
sister" is doing. The little sister can also
contact her big sister as needed. Please
contact Nicole or Lori to get hooked up
with a "big sister" today! If your multiples
are over a year old and are interested in
becoming a “big sister” contact the
committee today.
