the CKA all-breed shows.
This event was created to celebrate purebred-dog
breeders and to acknowledge their exceptional level of
commitment, dedication, knowledge and ability. They
are the essence of the purebred dog fancy – this event
honours the legacy they have created by consistently
producing superior purebred dogs that are healthy
and are of uniform breed type and conformation.
We wish everyone the best of luck at this year’s event,
and invite the purebred dog fancy to continue to join
us as we expand and evolve this unique competition
into a nation-wide celebration of purebred dogs and
their breeders.

MARETH K. KIPP, Moraine Airedale Terriers
I have bred and owned Airedales for a good por­tion of my life. Our first was very much
a pet, and prob­ably not pure­bred, but she started us on the path to find some­thing better. We were lucky enough to pur­chase a very well bred bitch and as they say, the rest is
his­tory. We bred over 85 cham­pions to date and won­derful com­pan­ions as well. We have
had two Best in Show win­ners as well as national, regional and local spe­cialty win­ners. As
with many other tried-and-true dog people, at one time or another, we have also owned a
Smooth and Wire Fox Ter­rier, a Nor­folk and Nor­wich, a Lake­land and a Pointer. How­ever
my first love has always been the Airedale.
I started judging over 30 years ago and have judged our national spe­cialty sev­eral times as
well as the Airedale Ter­rier Club of Canada National Spe­cialty. It is always very spe­cial to
me when I am asked to judge national spe­cialty shows for breeds other than Airedales, and
I have been lucky enough to have been asked often to do just that.
The dogs have been very good to me in that I have had the oppor­tu­nity to travel the world.
I have walked The Great Wall in China, toured the For­bidden City in China as well, spent
time in Aus­tralia and New Zealand, toured around Buenos Aires, Argentina as well as Bogota, Colombia in South America, many coun­tries in Europe and one of my crowning judging assign­ments was in South Africa where fol­lowing the show, I was taken on a five-day
safari in Krueger National Park – what an experience.
I also have a won­derful pri­vate life. We have a dairy farm in South­east Wis­consin, four grown
chil­dren and five super grand­chil­dren. I love to cook, and bake, knit and read and I also love
to vol­un­teer at our hos­pital in the Recovery Room. As you can see, I don’t sit around a lot
won­dering what to do with my life, I have found many things to keep me occupied.
JUDY COLAN, Colsidex Weimaraners
Although my breeding pro­gram for the past 40-plus years has been lim­ited, average one
litter a year, I am proud to say that Col­sidex is the home of the 2 All-Time Top Win­ners, 33
Best in Shows and 27 Best in Shows, as well as the All-Time Top-Producing BROM Sire, 147
cham­pions. Proudly dis­played on my wall are the plaques hon­ouring my four WCA Hall of
Farme inductees, as well as the 64 Pewter Dogs for Futurity/Maturity win­ners. This past
year my Maturity-winning bitch, Ch. Col­sidex Seabreeze Beyond Words, was the winner of
the WCA Top 20 held in con­junc­tion with the national specialty.
I have judged national spe­cial­ties in Brazil, Ire­land, Aus­tralia, New Zealnd and the US. The

AKC hon­oured me in 2009 as Sporting Group Breeder of the Year.
I received the WCA Life­time Achieve­ment Award in 2012. I have served as AKC Del­e­gate
for the WCA for the past 22 years as well as the past WCA National Show Chairman for
nine years.
TERRY MILLER, Deja Vu Briards
I grad­u­ated from col­lege in Philadel­phia with a degree in Fine Arts. I applied my edu­ca­tion
in painting and drawing to training dogs, which I have been doing full time ever since. In
1982, I got my first Briard for con­for­ma­tion after having shown in obe­di­ence for sev­eral
years. This dog, Ch. Phy­deaux Take The Money N Run, at 13 months old was BOS at the
Briard Club of America National in 1983. At the same National, my first foun­da­tion bitch,
Ch. Aigner Teato­taller ROM, was Win­ners Bitch from the 9–12 Class.
Deja Vu Bri­ards has bred/owned over 275 Cham­pions. In their ranks are 13 Best In Show
dogs, 49 group win­ners, over 50 spe­cialty win­ners, 10 National Spe­cialty win­ners, 5 West­
min­ster Group Placers, sev­eral Number One All Sys­tems Bri­ards, mul­tiple Top Ten Herding
Group dogs and many dogs with per­for­mance titles in obe­di­ence, herding, rally and agility.
We are home to the two most famous Bri­ards in the United States show ring – Ch. Deja Vu
In Like Flynn CD PT and his daughter Ch. Deja Vu Ruf­fles Have Ridges PT. They are the topwinning male and female of all time in the his­tory of the breed. Ch. Flynn is the top sire of
all time in history.
A fun fact is our family con­nec­tion with Norman the Scooter Dog. Seen on most tv net­
works and news and enter­tain­ment shows (Let­terman, Good Morning America, The Today
Show, etc.), Norman is sired by our own Ch. Pop­sakadoo Deja Vu Bono and his dam Tessa,
is co-bred by me.
In 2007, I was nom­i­nated and then chosen as Out­standing Breeder of The Year by Dogs In
Review Mag­a­zine, Bowtie Pub­li­ca­tions and Purina. It was an immensely grat­i­fying award
given the fact that it is voted on by the dog fancy of exhibitors and judges across the United
States and only one is chosen.
I am cur­rently a long-standing member of the Briard Club of America Breed Edu­ca­tion
Com­mittee, serve on the Illus­trated Stan­dard cre­ation com­mittee and pres­i­dent of the
Atlantic States Briard Club. I live in Cleve­land Heights, Ohio, with my partner and fellow
long-time accom­plished Briard breeder and han­dler, Dominique Dube, native of Quebec.
We breed under the Deja Vu/Popsakadoo kennel prefixes.

Strathearn Bearded Collies, established in 1993 by Ann and Tom Dixon, has produced many of
Canada’s top-winning Beardies, handled by and often co-bred and co-owned with Graeme Burdon.
Baker (Strathearn’s Gentle Knight) was awarded 14 CKC all-breed Bests in Show and a Bearded
Collie Club of Canada National Specialty Best of Breed. Six other Strathearn Beardies have also
won CKC all-breed Bests in Show, earning a grand total of 59 to date. Webster (Strathearn’s
High Definition) was Dogs in Canada #9 All-Breeds in 2004, and Hart was Dogs in Canada Top
Ten All-Breeds for three consecutive years (#8 in 2007, #3 in 2008, and #10 in 2009). He
was BCCC National Specialty Best of Breed in 2007. Since 2002, when the Dreamchaser kennel
of Debra Quadland acquired Tory, the Strathearn-Dreamchaser team has co-bred and co-owned
many other top Beardies including Dilynn the current #1 Beardie in Canada and Bearded Collie
Club of America 2014 National Specialty Best of Breed winner.

Congratulations to last year’s
RESERVE Best in Classic
1. Enters a minimum of 3 dogs to a maximum of 5 dogs – making up each Breeder’s
Team of the same breed.
2. Breeder must be the “breeder of record” on all dogs entered in the Team. (Cobreeders are permissible.)
3. Canadian Kennel Club as well as foreign-registered dogs are eligible.
4. Spayed or neutered dogs are eligible.
5. Exhibits must be over 6 months of age.
6. Entry fee is $30 per Team
7. Exhibits do not have to be entered in the regular Caledon Kennel Association allbreed shows.
8. Dogs can only be entered in one Team.
JUDGING PROCEDURE
1. The Royal Canin National Breeders’ Classic will start no later than 12 p.m. on
November 29, 2014.
2. Teams will be divided into two units (Group A and Group B) by a draw after entries close. Just prior to the start of judging, the judge for each unit will be drawn.
3. Each unit will be judged by one of the Royal Canin’s selected judges.
4. Four Finalists will be selected from each unit to advance to the Finals to compete
for Best in Classic and Reserve Best in Classic Awards.
5. Judges will judge the Teams as a unit to evaluate the overall quality of the breeding program as represented by the Team – its consistency of breed type and
soundness.
