Cold-pressed vegetable oils
RApe
The brown-black rapeseeds are
growing in a pod which is 5-10 cm
long. The oil content of rape is
40-45 %. Seed yields per hectare:
approx. 3-5 tons.
Hemp
Oil is extracted from the ripe seeds
of the hemp plant, which reaches
a height of 2-4 metres. The oil content is approx. 28-35 %, seeds yield
per hectare: up to 1.6 tons.
For many generations valuable cold-pressed oils have been
extracted from high-fat oilseeds and kernels, and have been used
for preparing meals and as remedies.
Since several years - in the face of increasing ecological damage
and of limited mineral oil ressources - these oils are also used in
the field of technology.
Sunflower
The bright yellow flowers constantly turn towards the sun. Oil
content approx. 26-72 %, seeds
yield per hectare: approx. 2-3 tons.
Flax
Flax is a blue-blooming plant which
grows in almost all European countries. Oil content: approx. 30-48 %,
seeds yield per hectare: approx.
0.6-2.8 tons.
Thistle
Oil is extracted from the seeds of
the safflower. Oil contents: approx.
43-58 %.
A variety of seeds can be used for oil production. Excellent sorts are rape, sunflower, flax,
hemp, sesame, borage, evening primrose, thistle, poppy and black cumin. And also soja,
almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, grape seed, mustard, saphlor, rhizinus, kukani nuts, palm
kernels, jatropha, etc.
COLD PRESSING – THE SOFTEST METHOD OF OIL EXTRACTION
The cold-pressing process does not require complicated machinery. The characteristics of
this process are low energy requirement without any use of chemical extractive agents.
The oil extracted in a cold-pressing process retains its healthy ingredients – vitamines,
enzymes, lecithin, trace elements.
EXTRACTION OF OIL IS EASY
The construction of our endless screw presses is based on years of experience in construction and application in the field of cold-pressing of oilseeds. These oil extraction machines are in continuous operation and do not require any special supervision.
We offer machines in various sizes: from small presses for personal use and for direct sellers up to big processing capacities for oil mills, producer communities, forage producers,
store houses and co-operatives.

Rape
CLEANING OF THE SEED
Following the harvest, and prior to storage, the seed is being cleaned. Impurities, like
metal pieces, sand or stones should be removed for reasons of product quality as well as
to avoid damages to the endless screw press.
DRYING OF THE SEED
The humidity of the seed has to be reduced to approx. 6-8 %. This ultimate humidity is
the precondition for the storage of the seed for several months, and especially for the

subsequent optimal pressing of the seed.
STORAGE OF THE SEED
The preconditions for an optimal storage of the seed are a high degree of ripeness and
low degrees of humidity and impurities. Cool storage temperatures with sufficient air
and heat exchange are essential.

Cold-pressed edible oils - an integral part of a healthy diet
The multitude of possible applications makes the oil extraction
with the cold-pressing method a lucrative source of income for
your company.
COLD-PRESSed oil
Fuel
Rapeseed oil - fuel for vehicles with
a slight adaption of the motor.
Compared with all other extraction methods, oil produced by cold pressing has decisive
advantages: the ingredients (eg. vitamines, lecithin, enzymes, flavours, trace elements)
are almost completely preserved. It has a stronger taste and a higher proportion of
polyunsaturated fats. As only one pressing takes place, the expenditure of energy and
machinery is low.
EDIBLE OILS
Nutritionists today have great demands on edible oils which can be recommended for a
balanced diet. The content of unsaturated fats (linoleic and linolenic acid) should be as
high as possible. In the case of rapeseed oil this amount is 94 grams per 100 grams of
oil. Compared with other oils, this is top-quality. Cold-pressed rapeseed oil distinguishes
itself by its nutlike taste and an intense yellow colour. It will keep for about six months
and should not be heated up.
REMEDIES AND COSMETICS
The polyunsaturated fats cause a variety of biologically positive effects and have therefore proved to be of therapeutic value. As carriers of liposoluble vitamines they have substantial influence on blood circulation, skin, immune system and metabolic processes.
Cold-pressed vegetable oils are also used in the production of cosmetics - soaps, creams
and other products of beauty culture.
FUEL
Its energy density is only slightly (3-7 %) lower than that of diesel oil. It is an eco-friendly
fuel for special motors suitable for the use of vegetable oil (eg. block-type thermal power
stations, aggregates) or for vehicles with adapted fuel system (eg. private cars). It is not
to be confused with „Bio-Diesel“ or rape methyl ester.
One hectare of land planted with rape yields approximately 1.100 litres of oil. Assuming a
consumption of 8 litres per 100 km, one hectare of land makes it possible to drive 14.000
km by car.
FORAGE OIL
The high energy content makes it possible to improve low-energy forage. Rapeseed oil,
for example, covers the need of essential fatty acids, supports the provision of liposoluble vitamines, has a dust-binding effect and improves the flowability of pelleted forage
mixtures.
Use of the press cake
The press cake which is obtained by cold pressing contains more
residual oil and has therefore a higher value for animal food
purposes than the one which is obtained by warm pressing or oil
production by normal extraction.
Pigs
According to the law of animal foods the following press cakes are suitable for animal
feeding: Rape, flax, sunflower, safflower. One hectare of land planted with rape yields an
average amount of rape cake of approx. 2000 kg.

Presently a large part of the concentrated fodder for animals is being imported from
countries outside the EU in the form of grinded soybeans. This can partly be replaced by
rape expellers.

Apart from that the press cake is suitable as solid fuel for chaff furnaces, for the production of biogas and as a compost-fertilizer. Small amounts can also be used as baking
additive and in the production of cosmetics. The highest value, however, can be obtained
in using the press cake as animal fodder.

Our endless screw presses work
without any heating of the seeds
and the machinery. The press
screw, or its segments, are cone
shaped. Thus the volume of the
pressing tunnel is reduced, in order
to increase the pressure on the
material.
During the whole flow of the seed
through the press the oil is drained
via the strainer which surrounds
the pressing space.
Due to the technical equipment of the SK 60/1 an extension to a twin press is possible at
any time. Thus the seed throughput per hour can be doubled. The twin press SK 60/2 is
able to process different seeds at the same time. Thus you are flexible, and you save time
and efforts for setup and cleaning.

The oil is circulating between the raw oil
tank and the chamber filter press. Every
time the oil passes the filter plates, a layer
of filter cake is beein built at the filter
cloths.
Once the plates are completely filled with
cake, the circulation is stopped. Now the oil
