HOT SHEET The past few years have been an amazing time for Colombian pop/rock singer/ songwriter Marre. She has drawn comparisons to everyone from Avril Lavigne to Shakira, but she's definitely got a style and sound of her own. Her singles, Mas y Mas and Cada Vez, were on the Top 10 charts of major Latin American markets and her debut album, Marre, has generated consistent radio airplay throughout Latin America. Below are some of her career highlights so far. “Para Mi the first single of her new album Sombras de Luz got the first positions on the charts for several weeks and her new Song “Me Equivoqué has become a success getting the first position. • MARRE WINS THE MTV CHIUKU AWARD FROM MTV Marre was chosen by MTV and IDB as a winner of the “Chiuku” award for becoming as an agent of change. This award in Colombia has been given to 4 singers Shakira, Juanes, Fonseca and Marre and in the world singers as Juan Luis Guerra, Ricky Martin, Wyclef Jean and Ashley Tilsdale have also won this recognition. • ME EQUIVOQUÉ – SECOND SINGLE With the new songs from this album Marre has become unstoppable. Me Equivoqué her second single from her album “Sombras de Luz” enter to the radios charts in Latin America the same day that was released in the first position. • MARRE - LYRIC VIDEO - ME EQUIVOQUÉ After 10 days of releasing the single, Marre released the lyric video of Me Equivoqué, which is a uniquely presented video has never before been presented. The lyric video recreates a mini-movie with clips from famous film noir movies which were indicative of the way Marre presents her own history. The video’s imagery shows the feelings that she had in the moments she composed the song. • SOMBRAS DE LUZ – HER NEW ALBUM Produced by music legend Stephan Galfas (Meatloaf, Cher, Kool and the Gang, La Union, among many others), the album redefines Latin Pop. • MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTED BY SERGIO CABRERA Famed Colombian film director Sergio Cabrera created the music video for Para Mi, the first release from Marre’s new album. • SPOKES PERSON FOR BEST BUDDIES Marre was chosen to be spokesperson for Best Buddies, the international organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities HOT SHEET • ON HTV NETWORK – EN LA MIRA Cable music television network HTV chose Marre to be featured twice on its signature show, En La Mira, which spotlights young artists on the way up. • SPOKESPERSON FOR MTV/IDB’S CAMPAIGN FOR SAFER TEENAGE DRIVING Broadcast throughout Mexico, Central America and Latin America, Marre was the spokesperson for MTV / IDB’S campaign aimed at safer teenage driving. • AT HEROES OF THE HEMISPHERE Heroes of the Hemisphere, a program of the Pan American Development Foundation, celebrates individuals who are making a mark on humanity. Marre was the headline act at their event. • AT OAS’ CELEBRATION OF COLOMBIA’S BI-CENTENIAL IN WASHINGTON, DC The Organization of American States (OAS), headquartered in Washington, D.C., celebrated Colombia’s 200th year of independence in the famed Hall of the Americas. HOT SHEET • MARRE Y LOS NEW GENERATION LEADERS DEL BID Marre was invited to sing at the meeting of IDB's New Generation Leaders. There were leaders in different areas from around the world. • EN ECUADOR-QUITO EVENT 40 PRINCIPALES RADIO Marre was the only female international artist invited for the radio 40 Principales to perform at the Coliseo Rumiñaui with thousands of spectators. • AT BOGOTA’S LARGEST MUSIC FESTIVALS Marre was the only female artist invited to perform at two of Colombia’s largest outdoor music concerts: Evento 40 and Concierto Nuestra Tierra Tricolor. Organized by Colombia’s most important contemporary radio stations, the events had a combined attendance of over 85,000 people. • THE FACE OF TOMA CAFE Toma Cafe, a campaign aimed at increasing coffee consumption among Colombian youth, recruited Marre to be its face and voice. • MAKING NOISE IN EUROPE Marre rocked the house at the renowned Fete De La Musique in Paris as well as the Plaza Enrique Tierno Galván in Madrid. Both performances were huge successes. • A HAND FOR HAITI Marre was the only female musician chosen to take part in the Colombia Ayuda a Haiti concert to raise money for the Haitian earthquake victims. • SINGING FOR TURNER NETWORKS Media giant Turner Broadcasting Corporation held its annual advertising event in Cartagena, Colombia. Marre’s performance was a highlight of the night. • DUETS AND COLLABORATIONS Sharing the stage, writing or recording with other great musicians is one of Marre’s favorite things to do. When Chilean legend Alberto Plaza invited her on stage to sing a few songs with him, he introduced her as “the future of Colombia’s music”. She has also performed with Mexican pop sensation Christian Chavez and many other talented artists.
