Inside the Master:
Fun Facts About Maigan
Maigan frequently shows off her
phenomenal cooking skills and may
one day have her own show, “Whip
it up with Wipfli” on our campus
cable network.
Maigan is one of the
best “Cards Against
Humanity” players
on campus.
Maigan never lets any of her
advisees leave a one-on-one without
asking what she can do to aid their
success.
Maigan is a team
trivia champion!
Maigan is one of the most creative
people any of our housing staffers
have ever met.
Maigan and our RHA President Erin
Hanson at our NRHH Member Retreat
Maigan was an RA at her alma mater: UW- Green Bay
"Mai is one of the most remarkable and inspiring women that I have met. Solely within the chapter of
NRHH, she inspires me to be a better leader. She trusts her advisees, never thinking a serious idea is too
crazy to run with. For example, when our VP of Scholarship wanted desperately to have an NRHH retreat,
she encouraged it and gave him the tools to allow it to happen. She never stops asking how she can help
us, or what she could do to make our jobs that much easier, even if that "help" is just listening to us
vent about classes or group projects or parents. No matter what ridiculous thing comes out of your mouth,
she will never hold it against you. Outside of NRHH, Mai is employed as the Student Programming
Coordinator, overseeing various employees in the "Think Tank." This in and of itself is a huge undertaking,
as she coordinates getting supplies for programs that RAs put on and also HUGE campus-wide events,
such as CUBEfest. Despite this, she is absolutely dedicated to both NRHH and RHA, never failing in
offering unbiased advice, a supportive shoulder, or honestly just a good laugh. I could speak Mai's praises
forEVER, and she absolutely deserves to be Advisor of the Year."
-Heather Spray, NRHH VP of Recognition and Resident Assistant

Current Projects
Maigan’s Involvement this Year
Maigan has been involved in a lot this past year. She has branched out and shared
her time and incredibly energy with even more students. Her passion for students
and subtle wisdom have proven to be incredibly valuable to many students on
campus. Because of all of this Maigan was nominated for and won the campuswide Advisor of the Year Award this past May, a great honor that she richly
deserves.
Campus Involvement:
Maigan has continued to serve as the sole advisor for our campus NRHH
Chapter and one of the co-advisors for our campus-wide Residence Hall
Association. She has been helped our housing leaders to maintain successful
programs from past years as well as to implement a variety of new programs
including our first NRHH member retreat and a new campus-wide scholarship
initiative. In addition to all of this Maigan also gave an amazing keynote address
at our annual Fall Leadership Retreat, sharing her knowledge and experience with
students across campus.
"I cannot imagine my college career
without Maigan in my life. She has
been so helpful in many different
aspects of my life. As advisor to
three different organizations, she is
always supportive and willing to go
the extra distance to help out her
students. As a supervisor, she helps
create a welcoming and effective work
environment. Whenever Maigan is
involved you can be sure tasks are
done timely and thoroughly, and
everyone incorporated in the projects
she is in on are sure to have fun
along the way."
State Involvement:
Maigan is currently serving as the
Conference Chair for the Wisconsin College
Personnel Association. She has been working
very hard over the last several months to build
the best conference possible for both the staff
and students who attend the conference.
Many UW-Eau Claire students attend the
Student Affairs 101 portion of this conference
every year and this year one Maigan
successfully nominated one of her advisees for
the highly prestigious WCPA Undergraduate
Student Leader of the Year Award, living out
NRHH’s core value of recognition.
-Melinda Daniels,
Current NRHH President
NACURH Involvement:
Despite her insanely busy schedule, Maigan
has found time to advise four of the conference
committee chairs for the NACURH 2014 conference. Maigan’s experience and
mentorship is currently proving invaluable to Semis, Preconference, Programming,
and Decorations committee chairs.

Critical Acclaim:
What Students Have to Say
"Maigan
is one of the most fantastic people I have ever met. She has done more to aid
my success than any other advisor I have had and she plays a huge role in students’
lives through her mentoring, guidance, and caring. Mai works tirelessly for students
across campus and we are incredibly lucky to have her. My college career is so much
better because of Mai’s efforts.
-Brady Krien, NRHH VP of Scholarship & Resident Assistant
Mai is one of those people that you
can't help but look up to. She
knows what she's doing, gives the
best advice, and always makes
everyone feel like they are
appreciated. She is always willing
to lend a listening ear, a helping
hand, or an understanding
perspective and she is truly
appreciated by each individual and
organization she advises. Everyone
loves "Mama Mai."
