This beginner course is for you. You will gain confidence in choosing colours, learn how to cut the fabric and understand the quilting pattern and, finish with a quilt that will wow your friends. Soles need to be ordered in your particular size. Thread Painting Have you always admired quilted pieces that are embellished with thread painting and have wondered how it is done? In this workshop, you will learn how to get started using this amazing technique. Then we shall spend time practicing. You must have a sewing machine with free motion capabilities (i.e. feed dogs can be lowered) and a free motion or darning foot. Date: Sat. Join Karen for a day of sewing to make a beautiful quilt. This is a great beginner quilt. Date: Sat. A quick and easy way to paper piece and assemble the blocks. Date: Sat. Using strip piecing and a 45% ruler, such as easy angle, makes this quilt quite simple to do. Date: Wed., April 6th Time: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Fee: $30.00 plus supplies Kits available Instructor: Betty Ann McNabb Round Bargello Hummingbird and Flower Habitat 5 fat quarters of light fabric and 5 fat quarters of dark is all that is needed to make this fun quilt. Use 2 colour families to make a beautiful round bargello. This can be quilted and used as is, or add an appliquéd centre to create a unique piece of quilt art. In this workshop, we shall only be working on the bargello. Prep work required. Finished size approximately 50” diameter. Date: Fri. Diane Nixon will be here working on doll clothes and you are welcome to come and join her to make doll clothes for donation to Salvation Army at Christmas time. Please contact the store prior to Friday to make sure the classroom is available as some Fridays there are classes scheduled. Store Policy March Break Youth Sewing Do you know a young person between the ages of 9 to 12 that would like to learn to sew? This is the perfect class. We will begin by teaching them how to use a sewing machine while making simple and useful projects. Workshop fees are required upon registration in order to guarantee your spot. We count on your commitment when you pay for your class so we can pay our teachers, therefore we are unable to offer a refund should you choose to cancel. Should we cancel the class due to insufficient participation or other extenuating circumstances, your fees will be refunded or credited at your option in full.
