Just a “Little Bit” about our new pianist:
Gay Chesser is a native Texan living in Fort Worth where she previously served as organist and director of St. Luke’s
Choir and Hand Bell Choir for 8 years. She has also served as supply organist at other churches in the metroplex. She
received her musical training in vocal performance and piano at TCJC and TCU and studied voice with Desire Ligeti at
TCU, and Caro Carapaytan, Julliard School of Music and vocal coach in Dallas. Gay is a former member and soloist with
Schola Cantorum of Texas where she also served as Interim Business Manager and was also selected as one of the
soloists with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s southwestern premier performance of Leonard Bernstein’s
“Mass”. She was previously a member of the Fort Worth Opera Chorus where she was awarded the role of Countess
Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto in 1972 and has sung with numerous chamber groups, performing throughout the U.S.,
Europe, and Mexico. Gay is a member of Texas Glass Artist’s Association and likes to work with glass-on-glass mosaics. She says she gets her design inspirations from trips to the Fort Worth Nature Center.
If you haven’t had a chance to meet Gay yet, make a point to look for her Sunday Mornings. You can hear her play at the
11:00 Traditional service. We are excited to have her! WELCOME GAY

LORD’S ACRE
The 48th Annual Lord's Acre will be held on Sat., Sept. 8. It will be a great family day with a barbeque lunch,
bake sale/craft sale, silent auction, live auction, children's area, quilt raffle, with more things in the planning.
Please mark this great family day on your calendar and make plans to attend. The next Lord's Acre Committee meeting will be Sunday, Mar 11 at noon in the Sanctuary. Come and help us plan for this great event.
For more info or question please call Bill Davis, 817-308-9552
The Lord's Acre Committee is planning a garage sale on May 4 & 5. This is a good excuse to start
cleaning out your closets and cupboards now!! We will gladly accept all your used items (except
adult clothing). Please mark the items with the amount and leave in the gym. If you have any
questions, please call Nancy Davis, 817-300-5663.
I wanted to thank everyone for helping me to get money for the American Heart Assoc. “Jump
Rope for Heart.” A bunch of people donated and I got over $147.00! I want to thank everyone for their help.

A Few Notes from Ms. Sandy
Easter will be here before you know it!! Let’s start getting ready. We need candy to fill
the plastic Easter Eggs. It needs to be wrapped and small enough to fit in the eggs. We
have PLENTY of eggs, just need the candy and some volunteers to stuff them. The
Easter Egg Hunt will be the Saturday before Easter, April 7th, 10:00 A. M. until Noon.
Members are asked to bring snack foods for the hunt.
“And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked
them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me;
do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does
not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and
blessed them, laying his hands on them.” —Mark 10:13-16
Our hearts were blessed Sunday by the sweetest prayer, prayed for us by Emory Ford.
And on a lighter note - - A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. 'If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the
first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, ' Ryan, you be Jesus!'
One particular four-year-old prayed;
'And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets.'
A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter
and said, 'Would you like to say the blessing?' 'I wouldn't know what to say,' the girl replied.
'Just say what you hear Mommy say,' the wife answered. The daughter bowed her head & said,
'Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?’
Easter is on April 8,2012
HELP NEEDED!!
Do you like babies? Of course you do, and we have the
cutest and sweetest here at SCUMC.
We could use more help in the nursery on Sunday
mornings. Our families are growing!!
Email Keturah at [email protected] or stop
by the Nursery on Sunday morning to visit with
Keturah, our Nursery Director. You will get to see
some really precious babies there too!
We will begin taking orders for
Easter Lilies on
Sunday, March 18.
Look for order

Sunday bulletin.

Make tithing and generous giving a priority!
“DINNERS 4 DELIVERY”
That’s the name of our new program for “Reaching In” and getting meals delivered to families needing help during illness, hospitalizations,
after funeral services or any reason that one of our church family needs assistance with meals. We will be keeping dinners ready for quick
notice in the freezers we have available. If you are interested in cooking, delivering or helping in any way, please contact Nancy Davis,
817-300-5663 or [email protected].
Youth and Kids!!
Bring your donations to the Food Pantry to Sunday School. There is a basket in the He-Brews Café for
items for the Food Pantry. Just be sure to bring regular sized cans or boxes of food. Items needed
are listed on the bulletin board in the foyer. The needs are great right now and you can do your part
by helping to fill the basket.
“Reaching Out”
