So it is but natural that their films talk about themes that are contemporary in India, and in many other parts of the world. These are universal stories of youth, rebellion, isolation and human bonding. And yet, they bring something unique to Cinema: because Latin America is steeped in a culture where Magic Realism reigns; where political upheavals and crime are a part of daily life; and yet, this is also a culture that has a passion for colour, music and imagery as if life depended on it. This heady combination creates a unique kind of cinema that dazzles with passion, and shows the rest of the world what it is like to live in the twenty-first century.
