Description of the organization
The Regroupement des centres d’amitié autochtones du Québec (RCAAQ) is the provincial
association of the Native Friendship Centres in Quebec. Our mission is to defend the rights and
interests of urban Aboriginal citizens in Quebec and to support the Quebec Native Friendship
Centres in the work to carry out their missions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant assists the employees
of the RCAAQ in carrying out administrative duties.

Support RCAAQ employees in their administrative duties;
Answer the telephone and provide reception duties;
Be responsible for production and page layout of project documentation, including
general correspondence, minutes of meetings, reports, memos and other various
documents;
Write reports of meetings and resolutions of the decision-making bodies of the RCAAQ.
Maintain an up-to-date registry of resolutions;
Oversee and organize logistics and travel needs for RCAAQ events;
Ensure respect of official language requirements concerning all RCAAQ documents;
Manage needs concerning simultaneous translation at RCAAQ meetings and events;
Prepare document kits (Board of Directors, meetings, representation, events);
Perform various administrative duties such as data entry, preparing and opening mail,
maintaining the incoming and outgoing mail registry, answering the telephone and
distributing photocopies;
Design, implement and manage paper and electronic filing systems for the RCAAQ;
Maintain an inventory of office furniture and materials, and prepare orders;
Be in charge of: photocopy room, postage stamp meter, printers, computer back-ups;
Update the general calendar of RCAAQ activities;
Participate in team meetings;
Perform all other related duties.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience

Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in office technology
Experience in project management or administration
Excellent written French
Bilingual an asset
Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet search
tools, etc.)
Skills and aptitudes

Aboriginal person and/or work experience in an Aboriginal setting
Adherence to the mission and values of the RCAAQ
Communicate well with others
Good team spirit, sense of initiative and organization, responsible and rigorous
Available for occasional travel as required
Under RCAAQ policies, priority will be given to Aboriginal candidates.
