Jean Beaupré earned his law degree from Université Laval in 1973 and was admitted to the
Barreau du Québec in 1975. He then started his practice with Lemieux, Routhier, Gagnon,
Beaupré and in 1985 became a partner of the firm, which merged with Jolicoeur Lacasse in
His practice focuses on civil law. He also works in insurance law, litigation and business law.
Given his expertise in property insurance and damages, he is called upon to represent
individuals and businesses in claims against insurance companies, and in mediation and
arbitration. He also handles cases of contractual and extra-contractual liability.
Mr. Beaupré is recognized for his community involvement. Among other things, he has been
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Carnaval de Québec (Quebec winter carnival),
Centraide-Québec and the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie du Québec Métropolitain. He
has been a member of numerous other boards to improve the well-being of the community and
to promote the economic and cultural development of the Quebec City area.
