Qualifications
Having obtained his Law degree from Université Laval in 1987 as well as a graduate degree in
business administration, specifically in management of innovation in SMEs in 2007, Mr. Éric
Beauchesne was called to the Québec Bar in 1988. He joined our Trois-Rivières firm in 1998
after practicing for 10 years in the same region. He became a partner in 2003 and vicepresident in 2008.
Skills
Commercial litigation is predominant in his practice. He also works in the field of business
financing. Securities, banking, bankruptcy and insolvency as well as construction law are
predominant in his practice. He is called upon to represent financial institutions, small and
medium businesses and public organisations in the Courts. Mr. Beauchesne possesses a
specific expertise in financing and in enforcement of securities, which is particularly interesting
for small and medium businesses as well as for organizations offering financial services.
Involvements
He is actively involved in the community, notably on the judicial level where he was the
president of the Mauricie section of the Québec Bar (2005-2006) as well as a member of the
general council of the Québec Bar (2004-2006). He is currently a member of the administrative
committee of the Québec Bar.
On the cultural level, he has been, for five years now, Director of the Board of directors of La
Biennale internationale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières. He has also been a
director of the Corporation de développement culturel de Trois-Rivières as well as the President
of the Board of directors of the Salon du livre de Trois-Rivières.
His involvement on the sports level is reflected notably by his participatipon as the President of
the Association régionale de soccer de la Mauricie, but also as the Director of Club Megophias.
He currently sits on the Board of directors of the Club de canoë-kayak de Trois-Rivières. Mr.
Beauchesne is also President on the Board of directors of École Val-Marie (private elementary
school).
