It’s time to stay up late.
It’s time to play all day and not think about tests and worksheets.
Yes it’s time to relax and enjoy.
It’s time to enjoy reading books with your grandparents.
After all summer holidays are here.
Holidays are great, but schoolwork can be fun filled and inspiring too!
So here are a few interesting, activities to keep you going, through the
summer break.
Dear Parent,
A child’s brain is full of creative ideas that can be used to make the most of the spare time that
they get in their summer holidays.
The activities provided below will ease the boredom and provide a spark to your child’s
creativity and imagination. The early years of childhood is a period marked by overwhelming
sense of curiosity and immense creative urge.
Holidays are times when you can connect with your child in many ways like:
 Take your child for a walk, talk about the things you see around. Play indoor
games with your child like ludo, carromboard, scrabble and watch suitable movies with
them.
 Assign small household chores like dusting of the house, cleaning wardrobes,
bookracks& watering the plants to make them understand the dignity of labour &
maintenance of cleanliness.
 Encourage your child to eat healthy food. Avoid too much junk food.
 Help your ward practice tying shoe laces.
 Help your child learn to make his favourite drink like nimbu pani, lassi etc.
 Let your child do a lot of colouring, painting, scribbling, tearing and pasting.
 Please speak to your child in English as much as possible.
 Kindly encourage your child to share use of golden words’sorry’, ‘please’, ‘excuse me’
and ‘thank you’ extensively with other family members/ sibling.
 To inculcate good reading habits in your child, here are few suggested titles which you
can read with your child.
