This includes equipment, file cabinets, furniture, computers, etc. When in doubt, please call Paula at ext. 342. Also, do not swap office keys before contacting Dwight Lovell at ext. 344. The number on your office key has been designated to you only. It is important that the Physical Plant office have an accurate record of each office key and an accurate record of inventory. All employees should have received a notification through U.S. Mail as well. ATHENS STATE FAMILY NEWS Congratulations to Mrs. Marie Pryor, daughter-in-law of Wanda Pryor. She entered a contest to be Katie Couric’s cohost for a day. She won the contest and appeared as cohost on May 22, 2014. The contest required the submission of a one minute video explaining why Marie should be Katie’s cohost. She received a call from the Senior Producer explaining that she had been chosen as one of three finalists who would ultimately be chose on-air by Katie. Transportation and accommodations were allotted for Marie and one guest for May 21 – 22. She was selected to co-host live in every aspect of the show and a fun time was had by all! Justin Riddle graduated from Calhoun Community College May 16th. Larry Keenum and Hugo Bates, father of Suzanne Sims, were among the members of the 2014 Class of the Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame. Front: David Hogan, Pamela Nolan King, Hugo Bates Back: Larry Keenum, Joe Carrel Daniel, Paul Parker, Billy Owens, Jimmy Elmore Congratulations to Dwight and Debbie Lovell in the birth of their granddaughter Madison Claire Lovell Born June 24, 2014 Weight: 6 lbs 11 oz Length: 19 ½ inches Dr. Matt Bradford Matt Bradford received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis on May 16, 2014. Parents: Matt & Anna Lovell Matt is the son of Scott and Pat Bradford. Sympathy is extended to Amy Hardeman in the death of her Mother, Gladys Christine Hardeman. Mrs. Hardeman’s funeral service was June 27th. HOLIDAY Athens State University will be closed Friday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Members of the Athens State Staff are shown enjoying a Lunch and Learn presentation by Laurel Long, UAHuntsville, Wednesday, June 18th. Ms. Long presented the topic of “FISH”, an enjoyable insight into the business success of Pike Place Fish Market, an unassuming neighborhood fish market in Seattle, Washington, and its quest to become “World Famous” for going beyond providing outstanding service to people. The presentation was organized by the Staff Senate. Appropriate beautiful decorations for the lunch theme were provided by Dee Green in Athens State Limestone Bay Food Services. From the Pike Place Fish website: “It’s about taking care of people (our customers).
