God. During the service, let God speak to you. After the service, speak to others.”

Call to Worship
Leader:
Have you not known? Have you not heard? Our God is the everlasting
God, creator of the ends of the earth.
People: Our God does not grow faint or weary, and has understanding
that is unsearchable.
Leader:
Our God gives power to the faint and strength to the weak.
People: Even the young will faint and grow weary, and fall exhausted.
Leader:
But there is a promise to those who wait on God.
People: Our strength shall be renewed. We shall mount up with wings like
eagles. We shall run and not be weary. We shall walk and not
faint.
All:
Teach us, dear God, how to wait. Amen.

Westward, Ho! – AbyWEST Campaign Moves Forward
The AbyWEST -- 3.0 in 24 Mo!
Campaign is well underway. We are
very grateful to the membership for
their support of our effort to build a
$12MM educational center. Following
our initial appeal, more than 40% of
our members responded to the plea
to make a supporting pledge. We are
making
progress
toward
the
achievement of our goal to raise
$3mm in 24 months. Thanks to your
generous support we are one-third of
the way there.
Heed the Call – Make Your Pledge Today!
100% Member Participation Requested
For those who have not made a pledge, there is
no time like the present. Our goal is to attain
100% participation from our members. Pledge
cards are available in the church elevator lobby
and at Abyssinian.org via the “AbyWEST” icon.
Your completed pledge card can be left at the
front desk in the Trustee mailbox. With your
help
our goal to raise $3mm in 24 months will
be realized.
Thank you for your continued support!
Dedicated to “the Worship of God and the
Service of Humanity”…

2015 MEN’S WEEK OF SERVICES
SPECIAL EVENTS
In 1955, Emmett and his cousin, both from Chicago, went to visit their family in
Money, Mississippi. According to several versions, Emmett whistled at a white woman
and others say he grabbed her hand and asked for a date; other reports indicate that
all he said was "bye, baby" as he left the store. Myths, lies and misinformation
abound.
This play explores the impact of the brutal murder of Emmett Till and the powerful
ripples of change that transformed America but also introduces a young boy whose
vibrant personality and charismatic disposition always left a wrinkle in your forehead
and a smile on your face, and that is what will be forever missed.
