Online Giving Upgrade in the Works In an effort to keep up with technology and provide a viable and current online giving platform, Abyssinian is actively searching for a new, secure, user-friendly, and scalable online giving solution that can grow with us to meet our current and future needs. We will keep you posted regarding upcoming changes. If you experience any issues or challenges as we select and migrate to a new online giving platform, we encourage you to make our webmasters aware so they can address them quickly. MINISTRY EVENTS The Sister-to-Sister Book Ministry is currently reading “The Pearl that Broke the Shell” by Nadia Hashimi. Saturday, August 29th at 2:00 PM – The Ministry of Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Justice in collaboration with FIYAH hosts an outing to see “Amazing Grace” on Broadway. The performance will be followed by dinner and discussion at the Hard Rock Café. Youth ages 11 and up are encouraged to attend. Space is limited. Campaign is well underway. We are very grateful to the membership for their support of our effort to build a $12MM educational center. Following our initial appeal, more than 40% of our members responded to the plea to make a supporting pledge. We are making progress toward the achievement of our goal to raise $3mm in 24months. Youth On The Move is now accepting registration for the upcoming 201516 Afterschool program, ages 6-17. Our programs include math tutoring, literacy workshops, cooking, app building, engineering, art, test prep, and homework help. We will hold two sessions: 3:30-5:00 PM and 5:30-7:00PM. Saturday classes to be held from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Scholarships available.
