Festival Overview
F
ounded in 2004, the Orange County Children’s Book Festival has quickly
established itself as one of the premier book festivals in the United States.
The festival, which is held at Orange Coast College, is the only all children’s book festival
in California and has grown from 5,000 attendees to upwards of 30,000 attendees.
This one-day event features some of the top children’s book authors and illustrators in the
country including the voice talents who bring Nickelodeon’s The Wonder Pets to life; celebrity
authors such as Jamie Lee Curtis, author of Big Words for Little People; Barney Saltzberg, author of
Crazy Hair Day; Robin Preiss Glasser, illustrator of the Fancy Nancy book series; and Michael Buckley,
author of NERDS series. The Orange County Children’s Book Festival offers a variety of fun-filled activities
for the entire family including: a main entertainment stage, storytellers, illustrators stage, a wild animal stage
and petting zoo, free train ride, face painting, games, book signings, and over 90 book sellers and
educational exhibitors.
Indeed, the Orange County Children’s Book Festival is truly a community event and each year promises
even greater exposure, quality and success—solidifying it as a cornerstone event for Orange County.
“The Orange County Children’s Book Festival is a spirited event with a wide variety of
entertainment. As a sponsor, you get to play a part in a very imaginative day. Our booth
guests were visited by characters from story book heroes to men on stilts. the Orange County
Children’s Book Festival staff is very organized and helpful, making the whole day a breeze
from set-up to tear-down.”
