Prop building will begin early February. In order to keep costs for the show down we are looking for any scrap building materials (i.e. Coroplast signs, plywood, 2x4’s etc.) A Group Captain will be responsible for communicating with your skaters group and the club so everyone has all the information they will need. If you have signed up for this you will be contacted once our groups are finalized. If you haven’t signed up for this and are interested please email us at Being responsible for a dressing room can be a huge job but it’s always entertaining. There will be 2 dressing room parents per group. Since there are always lots of parents that sign up for this job we do sometimes have to share these responsibilities. Our volunteer coordinator will be in contact with you soon if you are signed up to be a Dressing Room Parent. This is a huge job so the more help the better! [email protected] Picture Day – Feb. 11 Picture Day will be Thursday February 11th in the arena lobby. Order forms will be in your soon and due back on picture day. Important Characters Nessa Rose – Elphie’s sister Fieryo – Elphaba’s true love Wizard of Oz – The Great and Powerful Madame Morrible – Headmistress of Shiz Dr. Dilamond – Professor/Goat Boq – Loyal friend Dorothy – Farm girl from Kansas 2015/2016 Since “Wicked” is not a very well known story I wanted to give a quick description to help you all become a little more familiar with the story. Wicked, when she refuses to help the wizard take control of Oz, she doesn't stop. She learns that you can do anything if you set your mind to it. Wicked is about a girl named Elphaba who believes she isn't special, and she isn't important. She goes to a school that makes her think even more that she isn't important because she was only sent there to look after her sister. Elphaba's character is about strength. Elphaba, however faces many problems with her life, what with her true love being stolen and her sister being killed, and all of Oz being against her, you can understand some of her anger locked up inside of her. Even though Elphaba and Galinda don't believe it until the end, they turned out to be who they were then because they knew each other. When the headmistress tells her that she is special, and she has a talent for sorcery, she feels like she has a talent. She knows that if she gets her shot and meets the wizard someday everyone will love her (from the song the wizard and I) She befriends a snotty girl named Galinda who soon realizes that popularity isn't everything. The moral to the story: Don't judge a book by its cover. You can do anything if you put your mind to it, you are never alone and always tell the They journey together to the emerald city to meet the wizard, who is really a fraud, and the bad guy in the story. Elphaba learns then that it is up to her to save the people of Oz from the wizard. Even though she is henceforth 3 Duncan Skating Club 2015/2016 COSTUME REQUIREMENTS As a club we do provide all costumes for our Canskate, PreCan, Power and PrePower skaters however we do have some small requirements that we do ask you to supply (i.e.: tights or pants).
