Welcome Back
Welcome back skaters to our fall
session at HuntingtonHills Skating
Club. We have quite a few new
members who have joined our club
this year and we want to give them
a warm welcome. Already we are
seeing new jumps and programs
being learned everyday. We look
forward to watching all the hard
work come together at upcoming
galas, competitions and test days.
It looks like it is going to be another
exciting year for our skaters.

We meet the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 in the Boardroom at
HuntingtonHills Community Centre. The meetings are open to all so feel free to
attend and find out what we are working on for the club. Should you have any
questions or concerns please contact a board member and we will do our best to
answer your questions.
Did you know……..
The first World Skating
Championship was held in 1896
and only men competed. In 1902,
a woman, entered the World
competition for the first time,
finishing second. A separate Donec
competition for “ladies” was
established in 1906. Pair skating
was introduced in 1908. The first
Olympic figure skating
competitions also took place in
1908. Figure Skating is an old
sport!

Volunteers
Did you know you can earn
skater credits that can be put
towards skates, skate wear, fees,
registration? Playing music for 1
hour earns you $10 in skater
credits. Our volunteer calendar is
still under construction so please

Bring all your used dresses, skates,
bags, etc to Huntington Hills by
November 2nd (look for Tracy or
Tina). Attach an envelope with
your name, amount you are
selling the item for and your
phone number.
Club Jackets
Are you looking for a HHSC club jacket? Sizing for
these Triple Flip jackets will take place at the following
times (the week of Oct 14th)
Tuesday 5:00 – 6:00
Thursday 4:45 – 7:00
Friday
6:00 – 7:00
Prices will be determined by the number of jackets
ordered. (usually between $95-110) There will be a $50
deposit when placing your order

We want to thank all the volunteers who put in countless
hours during the Wildrose Competition in August. The
competition was a huge success due to all your efforts!
