and Recording objects, with variable depth retrieval
allowing you to specify the details you’re interested
in, covering a range of over 100 possible data
points.

out-of-the-box solution. Web services are good for
programmers, but not all of us have the time.
The Quantone browser lets you research music, look
at the facts, and look like you know everything.

Data
Our web-based data service supports retrieval of around
100 data points from our cloud based knowledge graph,
through our three query objects: recording, album, and
artist. As well as our own data we support around 20
foreign IDs to integrate with whichever part of the music
industry your use case requires.

Headline: South London singer and producer who built
up an enviable batch of credits after featuring on
Rudimental’s first LP.
Ariana Grande
Headline: Successful R&B pop singer who first came to
fame as a popular stage and television actress.
The Weeknd
Headline: The highly individual soul music of Canadian
Abel Tesfaye caused a viral storm in the early 10s.
Bio: Abel Tesfaye played the mystery card to the hilt
when launching himself as The Weeknd. Preferring
to keep his identity anonymous he issued a trio of
astonishing album-length mixtapes in the space of 12
months that inevitably led to curious types solving
the riddle of his identity. By that point it hardly
mattered, the Toronto native having landed a huge
worldwide deal with Universal and stepped onto the
boards for the first time, releasing all three mixtapes
as handy introductory box set ‘The Trilogy’. Loosely
telling the story of a party, an after-party and its
messy, drug-riven aftermath, Tesfaye’s lascivious
storytelling and distinct voice gave it a narcotic
edge, while musical borrowings from Aaliyah, Beach
House, Cocteau Twins and Siouxsie & The Banshees
showed a refreshing catholic taste. Tesfaye’s face
finally adorned the cover of 2013’s ‘Kiss Land’, a heady
conceptual set dealing with his powerful addictions to
sex and alcohol.

Bio: Floridian singer Ariana Grande (Ariana GrandeButera) was born in 1993 and began her career as an
actress making her Broadway debut in a supporting
role in the 2008 production of 13. After starring in
Desmond Child’s musical Cuba Libre she became a
regular in the television sitcom Victorious that in
turn lead to a starring role in the spin-off series Sam
& Cat. Grande’s 2013 debut album ‘Yours Truly’ topped
the US charts and reached the Top 10 in the UK while
the attendant singles ‘The Way’ featuring rapper Mac
Miller and ‘Baby I’ were both US Top 40 hits. Christmas
2013 saw the release of the four track ‘Christmas
Kisses’ EP which featured her covers of Wham!’s ‘Last
Christmas’ and the festive classic ‘Santa Baby’ plus
two original songs ‘Love Is Everything’ and ‘Snow In
California’. An above average singer Grande boasts a
four octave vocal range and an R&B style reminiscent
of her biggest influence Mariah Carey.

Bio: MNEK’s mastery of mainstream urban pop made
him a ubiquitous chart presence in the early 00s.
The Lewisham singer, songwriter and R&B producer
Uzoechi Osisioma Emenike matched his colourful look
and hi-top fade by penning a raft of inspired bedroom
demos that won an EMI publishing contract before
he was even 16. He racked up production credits for
Frankmusik, CocknBullKid, Florrie, Diana Vickers and
Tinie Tempah before 2011’s ‘If Truth Be Told’ announced
him as an artist in his own right. However, MNEK’s
backroom work still shone the strongest. Pop turns
for The Saturdays, Misha B and Little Mix culminating
in his first number one as co-writer of Duke Dumont’s
‘Need U (100%)’ in 2013. That same year MNEK cowrote four tracks on Rudimental’s debut ‘Home’ and
produced Kylie Minogue. In 2014 he voiced Gorgon
City’s back to house basics top five hit ‘Ready For Your
Love’ and worked with Madonna, saving some studio
time for his own slyly persuasive ‘Small Talk’ EP.
