MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Too many little ones must go on long after
they are hurt.
Too many must live in the darkness.
YOU can be the one who provides hope and
healing and opens the door to their
2015 was an exciting year! Often getting through hard times in an insightful and positive way reaps new opportunities and
growth. We were fortunate to see an increase in federal and state funds this year, resulting in much needed staff growth. Our
center now employs 9 employees, with the additions of a MDT/Intake Coordinator, a Mental Health Therapist and a full time
Family Advocate. These additions are allowing us to improve and grow the overall services we provide to children who have
been abused and neglected locally. This year, we also added a sexual assault exam program in partnership with McLane
Children’s Hospital, and saw 72 children onsite for sexual assault exams. 550 children walked through our door in 2015 and
we are assured that these kids affected by child abuse received needed intervention, thus receiving the gift of hope and
healing. We had a successful Blue Envelope Campaign, Divine Desserts and added a new Designer Purse Bingo event. Our
successes are always found due to our hard working Board, our staff and the amazing support from YOU, our community. With
this growth comes additional financial needs to keep our vision and mission going, so we hope in 2016, you will continue to
support our cause. We are hosting Designer Purse Bingo again, April 3rd and hosting our first annual Divine Bingo
Extravaganza on April 24th. Please continue with us on this journey and change children’s lives forever.
Best to you all,
Michelle Carter, Executive Director
FREEDOM.
