Quartz...Why It’s Becoming #1
Koplitz Residence…
Quartz has become the counter-top surface of choice by many in the past few years
& there’s no doubt why. Quartz counter-tops are constructed of approximately 93%
quartz, (natural stone), & 7% resin & pigments. It’s durable, (about two times
stronger than granite), non-porous, stain/scratch resistant, & maintenance free.
Julie Koplitz shares her experience while working with Interiors by Kitchen Koncepts & why she loved it…
Building or remodeling a home is known to be a stressful time in a person’s life, but Julie
Koplitz, (of Marshfield, WI), is one of few who loved the home-building process along with all of
the decisions, planning, and coordinating that these projects involve. We asked Julie why and
here is what she had to say…
“Since Kris, (designer at Interiors by Kitchen
Koncepts), has worked many years in the
industry, it made me feel at ease with the
process. Building is a big task, but I found it to
be fun with the help of Kris and the team at
Interiors by Kitchen Koncepts. Kris worked
with our contractors and helped to keep the
project on time. The process started with our
blueprint and meeting Kris at their showroom.
My husband Justin and I were able to pick out
our cabinetry styles, wood species, stain and
paint, and see all the different features
available for every cabinet.” –Julie Koplitz

“The 3D images that Kris presented helped me
to visualize each space and were nice
illustrations of the true, finished products.
Going to their showroom was very helpful to
see all the options available in cabinetry,
counter-tops, hardware, backsplash material,
lighting and much more. Everything you need
is in one place, which saved me time from going
to multiple places. Everyone was so friendly,
helpful, had great ideas and was responsive; I
would highly recommend them to others
starting a project!” –Julie Koplitz

Its competitor, granite, requires repeated sealing over time. Granite is also porous,

making it more easily susceptible to staining. With granite being 100% natural stone,

color & designs are limited. Quartz has a nearly endless selection of colors & 
designs, from lots of movement & sparkle, to sleek, contemporary solid colors. 
Although granite is still a popular choice for counter-tops, quartz is getting more and

more attention and definitely gets the popular vote in the kitchen & bath industry in
