North Events successfully organized the 2nd exhibition GREKLAND PANORAMA
med CYPERN, at the Ericsson Globe Arenas, in the capital of Scandinavia,
Stockholm. Nearly 11.000 visitors came to the fair and experienced a truly
authentic “Greek” atmosphere enjoying multiple events, special offers and
festivities. This 2nd exhibition outperformed the first fair, by approximately 40%
increase in visitors, considering the exhibition space this year was significantly
larger, by 1.250sq.m.

IMPORTANT FACTS
According to Globe Arena’s management team, the number of visitors
in this fair, was the greatest ever achieved in the Ericsson venue
Having achieved such a great number of visitors, GREKALND
PANORAMA has now become one of the biggest yearly exhibition
events in the greater area of Stockholm
Once again all the major tour operators and tourism players of the
Swedish industry participated with exhibitor stands, promoting Greece
and sales offers only valid for the fair’s dates – achieving great sales
records

An increase of approximately 10% in bookings for Greece was noted by
the Swedish tour operators and travel agents
Top destinations for the upcoming holiday season include Crete and
the Dodecanese islands
New upcoming destinations include northern Greece (Halkidiki &
Thessaloniki) the Peloponnese, Athens – as a city break destination,
and the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf
Destinations that captured the attention of holiday seekers included
Samos, Karpathos, Skiathos, Alonissos, Lefkas, Northern Evia, Epiros,
Parga and Syvota.
One of the prevailing trends show that the Swedish traveler, is looking
for the authentic experience when on travel to Greece, including local
cuisine and traditional organic products, as well as nature activities
and sports.

The fair was very successful. We are happy that such events promote Greece

Highlights, and Events
During the fair:
The Smile of the Child organization together with the City of Stockholm
featured a thematic park with specially designed activities for families
and children, using Greek mythology as a learning and fun tool
Live cooking and Greek gastronomy as mastered by the Chefs of the
Hellas Food Lab were the center of attention with several daily tastings
for the public, also featuring the brand of GAEA products from Greece
* the only carbon neutral produced olive oil products by international
quality standards
A Traditional Cretan Wedding was recreated for all visitors to
participate and learn more on the local Cretan culture (Municipality of
Platanias)
Traditional live greek music performed by the TAXIMI group
entertained throughout the fair
GVR Project By Google Developers team in Greece – Greek Virtual
Reality Project based on the Google Cardboard was a great attraction
point for creating an international hub of developers and designers
Cyprus had a strong presentation by the Cyprus Tourism Organization
as well as the destinations of Larnaka Tourism Board, Ayia Napa Protaras Tourism Board, and Pafos Tourism Board

Press Conference, Networking & Vasa Museum Gala
PRESS CONFERENCE
The press conference was held at the Quality Hotel Globe auditorium several
reporters, media and decision makers from the tourism industry of Sweden
attending. The panel included the ambassadors of Greece & Cyprus on the
opening statements, and then followed the senior management officials from
Apollo Kuoni, TUI Nordic and Ving Thomas Cook.
NETWORKING EVENT – TRAVEL MATCH
Over 40 representatives from 28 tour operators and specialized travel agencies
from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland attended the event and made
significant contacts with hotels and tourism destinations from Greece.
VASA MUSEUM – GALA EVENT
The evening event for exhibitors and key players of the Scandinavian travel
industry was held at the Vasa Museum of Stockholm, and attended by
approximately 240 guests. An important mix and mingle event for
strengthening business relations between the sectors most important
spokespeople. The event was also a contribution to the objectives of the Smile
of the Child organization. Host of the evening was Alexandra Pashalidou,
reputable reporter and author in Sweden.
