“I Hope You Know”
Often there are those days when you look back
in reflection, you wonder how it all happened
so well. 783 shared in our Friends and Family
Day!
Last week we welcomed three new
families in our fellowship and next week we
will introduce at least one more. Will you be
next to join a church growing with God’s
grace? It would thrill our hearts to know you
are a part of what’s happening in our lives
here.
We saw this past Lord’s Day come with
anticipation but also with the addition of some
extra responsibilities. Over the last week we
have prayed for, visited, and ultimately
grieved with the family of Keyvin Wright.
While we grieve with his family, we are
thankful for the display of love from their
hearts for him. Serving a meal with a near 800
attendance crowd, and then offering a meal to
a family whose hearts and hands are weary
from sorrow, is no small task. With sincere
gratitude, thank you to those precious hands
that prepared and presented food for our
fellowship after worship and for the fellowship
after the funeral services. The variety and
amount of food was staggering, and once
again displayed your willingness to help
however you can. No one person prepared
more than another, so many were servants;
just the way it should be.
This Sunday we will celebrate our ground
breaking! Be with us for our theme lesson,
“Sharing Heaven in 2011 - Breaking New
Ground”. There may be a blessing you are
seeking to find for your heart. I hope you
know God is that blessing and you will find it
with Him and His Son’s church. Come be with
us this Sunday.
Katie
Bates wishes to thank
everyone for the birthday cards that
she received. She is now in assisted
living near her daughter and will
miss everyone here. Her new address

SUNDAY WAS SIMPLY AN…
awesome day! It’s hard to describe the
feeling of being around that many
Christian people and having the
opportunity to worship together! It
was also hard to fathom the amount of
food that was in the fellowship hall
after worship. The youth group carried
that enthusiasm over into the night
COMING SOON... with our Fireside. We have had two
firesides this year and have had close
-Sept. 2
to 50 in attendance at both! That is
5th Quarter
exciting. With such a large crowd on
hand, it was only fitting that we talked about the
importance of the influences in our lives! We looked at
what the Bible tells us about having good Christian
people in our lives and how that ultimately the people
around us help shape us into who we are. I pray
everyday that our teenagers will truly make every effort
to surround themselves with Christian people who will
walk by their side and help them get to Heaven. For
those who are on Facebook, you know that most
everyday you log on you have a friend request. I have
seen people on Facebook who literally have 2500 friends.
The funny thing is however, that on Facebook it doesn’t
take much to be someone’s “friend.” In reality, we can
truly know those who are our friends simply by looking at
the people in our lives who are helping us be better
Christians and ultimately who are going to help us get to
Heaven. There is no better friend to have than someone
who wants to help you get to Heaven. If there are
people in your life who aren’t helping you get to Heaven,
you should seriously question that “friendship.” May we
strive everyday to be the kind of friend that the Lord has
called us to be. May we strive to be the kind of people
that others want to be around, because we help them
have a better relationship with God. “Two are better
than one, because they have a good return for their
labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other
up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help
them up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. Be a friend and help
someone up today!
WE ARE HAVING OUR FIRST 5TH QUARTER OF THE….
year this coming Friday following the football game.
Everything will kick off in the Fellowship Hall
immediately following the football game. We will have
two great things going on Friday night, Dodgeball and
Waffles! What better combination can you think of?
