Rd 28 turn east and follow 28 to State Road 3, turn
north (left) go to Hartford City continue north 11 blocks
to McDonald street, turn west and we are the 2nd house
on the south side. (1 - 2 hrs.)

We are south of Fort Wayne; take I-69 to St Rd 18 turn
east until you come to St Rd 3. Turn south on 3 until
you come to Hartford City, go 3 blocks south after the
first red light to McDonald St, turn west and we are the
2nd house on the south side. (1 hr.)
Macrina Wiederkehr, OSB,
is a well-known author and
retreat leader on the subject of spiritual formation.
Drawing upon her monastic spirituality, she travels
widely leading spiritual life
retreats. She makes her
home with the Sisters of St. Scholastica, a Benedictine Monastery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Writing and
retreat ministry have become a part of her evolving
call.

University of Portland, Oregon and Religious Education from the University of St Thomas, Houston, Texas –with continued studies in spirituality through

without replenishing our own spirits. This retreat is an invitation to honor your soul’s need for reflection. Learn to pause for the medicine of deep listening. Attend to the breath of God in your
deep soul. Learn to abide. Sr. Macrina will explore with you a way of being attentive to the hours
of the day. We will search for ways to live contemplatively right in the midst of the busyness of
daily life. You will become a pilgrim of the hours.
Themes will be drawn from her book, Seven Sacred Pauses: honoring the hours of the day as well
as her latest work: Abide. The moving story of the Emmaus Journey (Luke 24:13 - 32) will be our
scripture companion for the retreat.
