This summer at the LUX Center, we have some great new things happening including our three summer camps for youth. I am thrilled about our new collaborative summer camp that is coming up in July. We have partnered with Lincoln Children’s Museum, Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Morrill Hall, and Pioneers Park Nature Center to bring you Camp Across Lincoln. This new camp allows your 6-9 year old child the opportunity to take part in fun and educational activities at each of these great Lincoln locations. This makes me want to be a kid again! I would have loved the opportunity to go to a summer camp where I could experiment with science projects, go on a zoofari, make pottery, explore nature, and be an archeologist for the afternoon. Each day campers will go to a different site to get a unique and well-rounded experience that will get them excited about learning. We’ve also got some new opportunities for adults to expand their horizons this summer with new workshops including the much-anticipated Ceramics Raku Firing or the Decorative Papers workshops. Please be sure to check out our exciting new exhibitions and events including our biggest day of family fun, Community Arts Afternoon in August! I hope to see you all at the LUX!
