WELCOME TO THE
LEXARTS HOP
Dear Art Lover,
Welcome to Gallery Hop!
The cultural life of any city starts with its working
artists. If nonprofit organizations—like the ones
LexArts supports—are the home of culture, then
individuals who create and perform are its parents.
LexArts’ Gallery Hop is a bimonthly open house
of the visual arts of Lexington. In our dozens of
venues where artists’ work is on view and for sale,
you have the opportunity to make your own home
a “room” in the larger home of culture. Whether
you are a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer,
Gallery Hop is a great way to bring the joy of
original art into your everyday life.
This year there are 48 sites, always free during
Hop. As new galleries, studios, and supporting
venues engage, your access to beautiful artwork
grows, and so does our collective culture. You’ll be
hard-pressed to take it in all at once. And that’s
not the intent. Galleries are open all week, artists
are happy to welcome you back to their studios
by appointment, and Gallery Hop happens every
other month.
Enjoy the Gallery Hop experience! Each one will
be different with new sites to see, people to engage
and exhibits to discover. And take home a piece of
art; you’ll be glad you did.

is always free.
Along the Hop, patrons are also able to board
the Trolley and travel to their next stop, free of
charge, courtesy of LexTran.

NEW FOR
HOP SEASON
2015
galleryhoplex.com
LexArts is pleased to announce that the 2015
Hop season has been expanded to six Hops!
Beginning in January, HOP will take place on the
third Friday of every other month. Not only will
this enhancement bring another fun-filled Hop
to downtown Lexington, it will also happen on a
more consistent basis.
We continue to improve the Hop website
with an emphasis on improved Hop planning
opportunities, more social sharing options and
improved user interaction. The website also
allows venues to update exhibit information on a
more timely basis and include information about
exhibits that may happen outside of Hop dates.
Take time to experience GalleryHopLex.com for
images and information on both past and current
exhibits.

four seasons to provide free Trolley transportation
downtown during Hop hours.
