OVERVIEW
Consistently ranked among the top business schools in the world, Goizueta Business
School serves the corporate community on both a national and global scale. Our Executive
MBA program and our Undergraduate (BBA) program are consistently ranked in the top 10 among their respective programs in the country, while our Full-time and Evening MBA programs are ranked in the top 25.
History of Goizueta Business School
Founded in 1919 as the Emory University School of Economics and Business Administration, the school was
renamed in 1994 for Roberto C. Goizueta, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Coca-Cola Company.
One of the nation's premier business education institutions, Goizueta Business School has been accredited since
1949 by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In 1954 the school introduced its
first graduate program, which led to the Master of Business Administration degree in 1979.
Led by Dean Larry Benveniste, Goizueta Business School's goal is to provide students with a broad professional
education and to engage them with the theory, principles and techniques of analysis, organization, planning and
control which are common to all organizations.
The Roberto C. Goizueta Legacy
Roberto C. Goizueta is revered as the innovative and influential business leader who served as Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of The Coca-Cola Company from 1981 until his death in 1997. Hailed by The Wall Street
Journal as "one of the most highly regarded CEOs in America," Goizueta demonstrated a level of personal and
professional courage throughout his lifetime that has ensured his legacy as one of the most respected business
leaders of the 20th century.
Goizueta's vision also serves as the inspiration and momentum behind our mission: to develop "Principled
Leaders for Global Enterprise" who can create value for their companies and for the world. Not only was
Goizueta a great leader for the employees and shareholders of The Coca-Cola Company, but he also was very
committed to improving business in general. A champion of education, Goizueta challenged business schools to
not only “teach business the way it is, but the way it will be.”
