DIRECTIONS FOR USE
General
This equipment is designed for large frame dairy cattle. Use extra caution when using on smaller frame cattle
to prevent injury to mouth and throat. Only use on cattle with a proper swallow reflex. Properly restrain animal
to prevent injury to animals and / or personnel. If animal does not have a swallow reflex, is too small to easily
swallow product being administered, proper restraint is not possible or animal physically objects to administration, discontinue use of this equipment immediately. Forcible use of this equipment or inability of the animal to
swallow any product administered with this equipment for any reason may result in serious injury or death of
the animal.
Bolus, Capsule, Magnet Application
1) Holding gun in horizontal position, pull back on plunger.
2) Insert desired number of Bio-Vet solid boluses into tip of gun with flat end of boluses going into gun first and rounded end pointing out. Holding tip of gun slightly upward, gently place gun into mouth of properly restrained
adult cattle only. To help prevent injury to the mouth and throat, position tip of gun no further inside the
mouth than the base of the tongue. Raise the animal’s head so that the tip of gun is in a slightly downward
position.
3) Slowly advance plunger to dispense contents one at a time at very back of mouth, behind teeth, allowing
adequate time for animal to
swallow each bolus. Remove
gun from animal’s mouth and
clean and dry gun between uses.
