2 — TRIB TOTAL MEDIA OUTSTANDING YOUNG CITIZEN NOMINEES A letter from the president T oday we look beyond the troubles often reported by Trib Total Media. Instead, we look to Western Pennsylvania and focus on the achievements of our youth. The dedication of these students to academics, community service and extracurricular activi- Ralph Martin ties is remarkable. Within these pages are some of the best, the brightest and the most giving group of individuals Western Pennsylvania has to offer. This year, parents, school administrators and friends nominated 95 students representing 17 schools. We are proud to have the opportunity to give these students the recognition they deserve. We have the utmost confidence that these students will go on to do amazing things and hold rewarding and impressive careers. I would also like to congratulate the many parents, teachers, coaches and mentors who have helped guide these young adults and contributed to their successes. They are often unrecognized for the many hours of loving assistance they have invested and we appreciate them encouraging the development of our youth. Finally, I would like to extend my thanks to you, the reader. Without you, none of this would be possible. I ask that if you know any of the students highlighted in this section, that you please take a moment to congratulate them for setting an example and working hard to ensure our future. We are proud to have the privilege of continuing the Outstanding Young Citizen program year after year, and it is because of the extraordinary students involved that we are able to do so.
