Staff Spotlight for November
Mrs. McMillan – Kindergarten Teacher
Hometown: Marshville, NC
Name of your kindergarten teacher: Mrs. Marlene Richardson
How many years at Fairview: 4
Favorite restaurant: Melting Pot
City you want to visit the most: Honolulu, Hawaii
Where did you go to college? University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Wingate University
Most rewarding part of being a teacher: Being a part of the educational growth of each student
Favorite thing to do outside of school: Take trips with family, watch Hallmark movies, and shop
Why did you become a teacher? I value education and believe that every child deserves to be
educated and appreciated. As a teacher, I am thankful for the opportunity to teach others and
hopefully provide a solid foundation where they will continue to grow and make improvements. I became
a teacher so that I can witness and take part in students acquiring more knowledge and reaffirming to
them how special and smart they really are.
Favorite sport/team to watch on TV: Olympics - Track and Field
Silliest fact about you: I'm not quick to talk to others but I embrace the chance to speak before a
crowd.
