Arts Council's Holiday Glitter and Jazz a Sparkling Event!
A Night of Recognition, Regalia and Rat Pack Razzmatazz!
The University Club of MSU was all aglow on December 3, as
the Arts Council of Greater Lansing celebrated it 34th annual
Holiday Glitter gala. One of the Arts Council's biggest events,
this year's theme was Holiday Glitter and Jazz "Live at the
Copa Room!" and the event truly delivered.

All Jazzed Up
Staff at the U-Club transformed the venue to reflect the 1960
jazz club era, complete with club-style seating, twinkling
lights and glowing red accents. More than 200 guests arrived
in a shining array of 60's style duds and dos, ready to get
jazzed.
A Ring-A-Ding Night
The evening started out with cocktails and hors d'oeurves and lots of mix and mingle, followed by
an awards presentation and then a live RatPack era show, featuring Mardra and Reggie Thomas
and Gino Federici. Led by emcee Evan Pinsonnault the group lit up the stage with plenty of music
and even a little clowning around Dean Martin style.
And the Award Goes To...
This year's Arts Leadership Awards
were presented to Joan and Jerry
Mattson, who received the Applause
Award and to City Pulse who received
the Business Arts Award, with Berl
Schwartz and Allan Ross accepting.
Gino sings a little Dino.
Berl Schwartz accepts the

Both recipients were honored for their
dedication, passion and commitment to the arts and received handcrafted glass art awards designed by local artist Craig Mitchell Smith.

Arts Council News - December 2013
Overall the evening was a smashing success. The music and conversation flowed into the late
hours, and everyone had a fantastic time. The Arts Council is
grateful to all of our generous sponsors and to everyone who
came out in celebration of the arts. Holiday Glitter is one of
the Council's major fundraisers, and we really appreciate the
support of the capitol region.
We look forward to seeing you all at our spring event, A Taste of
Art and Life, which will be blooming right along with Michigan's
May flowers. Thanks for supporting the arts. We wish you a happy
holiday season and a prosperous New Year.
