2015 Aug Prayer Possible
praying for brent & stephanie batiste niu cru & athletes in action
Thank you for your prayers
and partnership in the mission
on campus. Everyday we walk
on campus we thank God for you
as we step out in faith knowing
that you stand with us!
Jacob’s Health: Last school year was a challenging year for Jacob. As we continue to seek the
Lord for healing, we explored some new medical options closer to Chicago. In the fall and winter he
received treatments from an allergist and in the spiring we began to see a chiropractor who
specializes in digestive issues. Sadly, we did not see any changes in his condition. Some of the
approaches required two treatments a day, so that made for very long days. We have decided to
take a break from exploring any new options this school year. We treasure your prayers for his
health and for his perseverance. We talk often together about God’s great plan for his life and how
God may choose to use his struggles to bless others.
Beyond NIU: We have a team of campus missionaries (including
one of our own alumni) beginning a new school year of ministry on
several campuses throughout Puerto Rico. We will send a short
term missionary team to encourage them and help give lift to the
efforts on these campuses March 12-19th. Would you or
someone you know like to join us? Please let us know!
Fresh Faces: One of our goals
this year is to have every
incoming student-athlete at NIU
over to our home for dinner. Our
heart is show God’s love in
some practical ways that would
then open the door for us to
share the Good News of Jesus
Christ with them. Our prayer is
that students would see Christ in
us and long for the hope that
only He offers.

outreach meeting on campus
The Kids: Abby and Hannah
(both in high school) are busy
with volleyball. Hope and Jacob
(6th & 4th grade) have kicked off
their soccer seasons. We would
love your prayers for our family
as we navigate the teen years
and seek to love and lead our
kids in Christ.

Equip: Our theme verse this
year is Ephesians 4:12 “To
equip the saints for the work of
the ministry.” We long for our
students to experience the joy
of leading others to Christ.
Love In The Air: We continue
to lead couples through premarital counseling and Brent
will be officiating weddings for
alumni in September and then
also in April.
Wheaton College: Just 43 miles from Dekalb, we are
asking the Lord to raise up Christ-centered laborers
from a school that is very different from NIU. The
young people on this campus are in so many ways
already equipped to take the Gospel to people. Our
prayer is that we could help mobilize them to join us in
the mission at NIU and beyond.
If you know any recent college grads who may be
looking to serve the Lord with us, please let us know.
