HAT has been

equivalent
of
Hollywood’s Oscars
didn’t fail to impress.
When Yaw Chee Siew,
chairman of Perdana
ParkCity Sdn Bhd went
on stage to accept Fiabci’s award of Property
Man 2012, he was rightly applauded. Yaw
was man of the hour because of the
magnificence of Desa ParkCity, a
phenomenon in Malaysian real estate.
Likewise other industry players earned
acclaim for their respective properties in the
Malaysia Property Award 2012: Selangor
Dredging Bhd for its 20trees development in
the Residential Low Rise category, IGB
Corporate Bhd for U-Thant Residence in
the Residential High Rise category, and
Central Market in the Heritage category.
Other winners lauded were SP Setia’s
Setia Alam (Master Plan category),
Bangunan Lestari Kumpulan Emkay
(Sustainable Development), and PJ Trade
Centre (Office). Datuk Abdul Wahab
Maskan, meanwhile, was named Property
CEO.
The black-tie event,
attended by the Yang diPertuan Besar Negeri
Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni
Almarhum Tuanku
Munawir, marked a
milestone, being in its
20th year. It has been two
decades of distinction as
the country’s premier
property awards—
something not surprising given the
comprehensive research and organisation
put into the judgement as well as its
stringent evaluation process.
The winners at the event will go on to
represent the country at the international
level. Equivalent awards are held by Fiabci
chapters all over the world each year, which
culminate in the international Prix
d’Excellence—the next one to be held in
Taiwan in May.
Fiabci Malaysia president Yeow Thit
Sang and Malaysia Property Award 2012
organising chairman Dr Yu Kee Su believe
Malaysian developers will continue to do
well at the Prix d’Excellence - as shown over
the years.
theSun was official media partner of the
awards and Maybank was official sponsor.
