For Immediate Release WMOR-TV LAUNCHES ESTRELLA TV ON DIGITAL MULTICAST CHANNEL Hispanic Broadcast Network to Deliver Compelling Programming to Tampa Bay Tampa, FL (July 16, 2009) – WMOR-TV today announced an affiliate deal with Liberman Broadcasting, Inc. (LBI Media) to launch LBI’s top-rated Hispanic network Estrella TV on WMOR’s multicast channel 32.3. Beginning in the end of August, WMOR will introduce Estrella TV’s content to the Tampa-St. Petersburg (Sarasota), Florida market. Florida is among the top five states with the highest percentage of Hispanic residents, according to the U.S. Census. Fourteen percent of the Tampa-St. Petersburg market is composed of Hispanics, making it the eighteenth largest Hispanic market nationwide. “We are excited to offer more diverse programming to our Hispanic viewers,” said WMOR-TV VicePresident and General Manager Ken Lucas. “Estrella TV is part of our long-range plan to better serve an important, growing part of our community and enhance our ability to inform and entertain by giving Tampa Bay more viewing choices.” "Estrella TV’s quality and diversity sets it apart from other Spanish-language networks," said Lenard Liberman, Executive Vice President, LBI Media. “We are confident that Estrella TV’s programming will give WMOR-TV an unprecedented, powerful way to connect with new audiences in the region.” Residents in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Sarasota, Hernando, Citrus, Manatee, De Soto, Hardee and Highlands counties will be able to watch Estrella TV. To receive the new digital channel, viewers will have to rescan their digital televisions or converter boxes. Information on how to rescan can be found at www.wmortv32.com or at www.DTV.gov. In addition, Estrella will also be available on Bright House Networks, Verizon FIOS and Comcast Cable on channel positions that will be announced at a later date. Estrella TV is WMOR-TV’s second digital channel. On March 2nd of this year, WMOR-TV successfully launched “thisTV Tampa Bay,” the area’s first free 24-hour over-the-air movie channel, which continues to rapidly grow in popularity and viewership. Featuring top Latin American talent, Estrella TV’s programming roster includes musical-variety, comedy, scripted drama, talk and game shows, as well as a daily national newscast and a news magazine show. The network consistently has top ranked Nielsen primetime ratings in each of its markets, like Los Angeles, New York, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Diego, Houston, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
