The scheduled events will take place in the Auditorium of the Musicaeduca School and the Conservatory’s Hall. Any changes will be announced well in advance. The International Competition “Gran Klavier – Ciudad de Alcalá” aims to promote music among young piano students and develop an artistic and cultural exchange between Spain and Mongolia. Terms and Conditions The Spanish-Mongolian Association presents the 3rd Edition of the International Competition for Young Pianists “Gran Klavier – Ciudad de Alcalá”. The competition will be held on 8, 9 and 10 of April, 2016. 1. The competition is open to all pianists who as of April 8, 2016 do not exceed the age limit for each category. 2. The competition includes the following categories: • Cat.A: reserved for candidates up to 11 years on the date of the contest. • Cat.B: reserved for candidates up to 16 years on the date of the contest. • Cat.C: reserved for candidates up to 25 years on the date of the contest. 3. Performance: One unique performance for the three categories. The pieces must be performed from memory. 4. The order of participation of candidates will be done by alphabetical order. At any time, the Competition reserves the right to change this order. 5. Program. For all categories, the following shall be interpreted: • A baroque or classical piece • A romantic piece • A piece of free choice, preferably a Spanish composer or a composer from the contestant’s home country. The performance of the three chosen pieces may not exceed a maximum of 10 minutes (Cat. A), a maximum of 15 minutes (Cat. B) and a maximum of 20 minutes for Category C. 6. Jury. The jury consists of internationally renowned pedagogue musicians. The president of the jury will be Professor Galina Egiazarova , teacher at “Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía” in Madrid. The jury’s students will not be able to participate. The jury’s decisions are final. The participation of the winners in the final concert as well as the program to be interpreted will rely upon the organizers. The jury reserves the right to interrupt the execution of the pieces when appropriate. 7. Registration and admission: All required documentation must be submitted before March 31, 2016. • Registration form duly completed • A photocopy of ID card or passport of each participant. • A request for a formal invitation that will allow obtaining a visa to travel from certain countries. Please make sure to indicate the fax number and address where it should be send. • In Category C, a brief CV must be attached with information on the musical training of the candidate and the name of their teachers. • Receipt of the transfer or payment in the account number ES18 2096 0586 10 3214887204 • Entry fees for all categories: 40 € 8. Prizes. • Category A. - First Prize: Gold medal. Diploma and a batch of music scores. - Second Prize: Silver medal. Diploma and a batch of music scores. - Third Prize: Bronze medal. Diploma and a batch of music scores. • Category B. - First Prize: “Tatiana Melnichenko” Prize worth 100€ and a Diploma. - Second Prize: Diploma and a batch of music scores. - Third Prize: Diploma and a batch of music scores. • Category C. - First Prize: “Arcadi Volodos” Prize worth 200€. - Second Prize: “SMA” Prize worth 150€. - Third Prize: Prize worth 100 € and a diploma. • Special awards: - Prize “Young promise Maria Pilar Bernal” worth 100€ and a diploma to the contestant less than 11 years (included). - Award for the youngest competitor in the contest. Gift and Diploma. - “Extraordinary Award”. The winner will receive a master class taught by the renowned pedagogue Galina Egiazarova, professor of “Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía” in Madrid. - In each category, there will be a special prize for the best performance of a baroque or classical piece.
