Arts: The Visual Arts Program affords students the
flexibility to sample multiple disciplines - ceramics,
digital art, photography, sculpture, studio art and
art history or to declare an Arts Concentration. Art
concentrators participate in the strong foundations
program which prepares students to major in
visual arts in college. The Performing Arts Program
offers courses in vocal and instrumental music as
well as music history and music theory providing
opportunities to create, perform, listen to and
analyze music. The music program complements an
active theatre program.
Campus Features: CH-CH’s campus is quiet and
safe with downtown Boston only 10 miles away.
Features include: Wilkins Hall - classrooms and
media center; South Hall - home for junior and
senior girls; The Barn houses most of the art spaces
including the theatre, digital arts lab, photography
dark room, pottery studio, dance/yoga studio; The
Cottage – home base for freshman; Harrington
Hall – dining hall downstairs with freshman and
sophomore dorms upstairs; Franklin Family Students
Center – school store; The Green House – grows
vegetables that are served in the dining hall; The
Pond – a student favorite features a zip line running
across it. The Athletic Facilities include multiple
athletic fields, dual heated swimming pools, gym
and fitness center.
Extracurricular Opportunities: Student activities
include: Student Government, Honor Committee,
Yearbook, Gay/Straight Alliance, International
Student Organization, Students’ of Color Alliance,
Improv. Club, Latino Club, Gardening Club,
Technology Workshop and Woodworking. CH-CH
produces three dramatic productions per year.
Marking System: CH-CH utilizes the standard
grading system: A=90-100; B=80-89; C=70-79; D=6069; F=0-59. Grades are issued on a trimester basis
with parents receiving reports at the middle and
end of each trimester.
