Worldwide Marriage Encounter DFWET Love Notes
Worldwide Marriage Encounter DFWET Love Notes Dallas - Ft. Worth - East Texas Newsletter - January 2016 What’s Inside News From Our Encounter Leaders Dearest Encountered Family, We want to thank you and humbly ask you for your prayers as we start our new journey of Encounter Leadership. In the Lenten season the tradition is to give up something, a sacrifice to allow us to participate in a small way in the celebration of the ultimate sacrifice of Love on Good Friday. Instead, this season, we challenge you to sacrifice for the sake of your relationship. This is the best way we can give up our lives to each other like Christ did for us. We know that you can inspire and bless other couples by making your relationship the best it can be. Jesus needs us to be a strong team sending, us out 2 by 2 as his body that spreads His Love to the entire world. We challenge you this Lenten season to try daily dialogue. Included in this newsletter are Questions for Daily Dialogue during Lent. It doesn’t matter if your struggling or if you haven’t dialogued in a while or even miss a day. What matters is that you remember that tomorrow is a new day to begin again. Our prayer for you as we begin our new journey is that each of you will learn to listen to the wisdom of God, grow closer to him together as a couple, and that you will let his love and graces shower upon you. May God Bless you always, Tom and Lisa When we are who we are called to be we will set the world on fire! How about a couple that is committed to their church community or prays together as a couple? We need a couple that is committed to dialogue, supports the weekend, and actively invites couples, priests and religious to the Weekends and Community Events. If you know a couple that has these qualities and continue to inspire you to be the best couple you can be nominate them for our “StellarCouple”! For nominations please let us know of how they inspire you to be a DFWET Stellar Couple at [email protected] Congratulations to our DFWET Stellar Couple Andy and Ann-Marie Dean! Andy and Ann-Marie Dean are vibrant part of the Frisco Honeymooners Sharing Group! They have been married for 26 years and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. They experienced their Weekend in 2015 and have been an important part of our DFWET community ever since. They said YES to the gift of being prayer couple coordinator for DFWET and they lovingly fulfill their role. As a couple, their most endearing qualities are: honesty, generosity and affection. We love you Andy and Ann Marie! Your Frisco Honeymooners Sharing Group 2016 Weekend Dates Hilton Garden Inn - Las Colinas April 1-3 - June 10-12 August 19-21 - November 4-6 Tyler: September 30-October 2 If your church allows groups to do Mass talks let us know! Does your church have WWME as part of their bulletin? If not let us know so we can help you get the information in there! Do you know the webmaster for your church? Do you have a link to WWW.DFWME.ORG? If not we can help! [email protected] Mass talks are an opportunity to speak to couples at Masses about Worldwide Marriage Encounter. They are an opportunity to reach hundreds of couples in a more personal way. Giving mass talks allows us to “tell our story”; the romance stage of our courting days and early marriage, how we got caught up in the modern world, our disillusionment and what attending the Weekend has done for our marriage. Since we’re speaking at Mass, we have a somewhat captive audience. We use this opportunity to make Worldwide Marriage Encounter “come alive", peak the interest of the married couples, and make them want to find out how they, too, can bring the romance and joy back into their marriages. Some of you may have noticed we are no longer an Area, but an Encounter. We no longer go to Circles, now they are called Sharing Groups. Why in the world cause the confusion and change the way we know things? Well, as many of you know we are in 80 countries all over the world and we have all different names for levels within Worldwide Marriage Encounter. So, with that in mind Worldwide Marriage Encounter World Council has changed terminology in order to become an official ministry approved by Rome. After much thought and advice they have changed names of things so that no matter where in the world you are, you know what they are talking about. So, while the change might be difficult for those of us who do not like change, hang in there! Before you know it, it will come naturally. Most companies will match your donation to Worldwide Marriage Encounter! Contact Allen & Monika Fields at [email protected] for more information.
