Evangeline Bullock will celebrate nine
years on television by way of her ministry “Shine A
Little Light”. I met Evangeline a few years ago and
she is a delightful woman with a heart for God.
Evangeline has been reaching out to her viewers also
at local events that she emcees, to both the young and
seniors and some less fortunate members of our
community that are so often overlooked. Evangeline
has known Pastor Sheryl Brady for several years and
have her as her special guest at this event.

Pastor Sheryl Brady
is the dynamic host of
the nationally televised program “Connections with
Pastor Sheryl Brady”. She is a frequent guest on
TBN’s national “Praise The Lord” program and has
ministered for Bishop T. D. Jakes at his MEGA-fest
conferences. Pastor Sheryl’s humanitarian efforts are
affecting lives all over the world. Her ministry offers a
wide array of outreaches, which include feeding
thousands of people annually through the food bank
program housed on the Sheryl Brady Ministries and
The River Church campus, supporting the families of
U. S. troops stationed overseas and many more. Also,
close to Pastor Brady’s heart is the support of families
with terminally ill children through prayerful, emotional
and financial support. One of the future outreach goals
for Pastor Brady is to open “G-Ma’s House”, a loving
and stable home for newborn babies of incarcerated

Young Quarteters of TODAY!
The Covenant Messengers
is a traditional quartet style gospel
singing group, consisting of eight
handsome young men, ranging from
ages 16 to 29 years-old. Each group
member is a gifted singer, songwriter,
and/or musician. Jerome Wheeler
(lead vocals), Cameron Tate (tenor),
Tony Wheeler Jr. (tenor), Derrick
Jenkins (alto), Marcus Jenkins
(soprano, lead guitar), Nicholas Sapp
(bass), Timothy Moore (drums), and
Eric Barefield (organ). The group hails
from Bakersfield, California.
Beginning early in 2006 these young men began ministering at various local events including, the Kern
County Fair, the Bakersfield Stop the Violence Rally and many other religious programs, rallies and
concerts at various churches. As a result of their unforeseen popularity, they have been blessed with
numerous opportunities to travel throughout the valley including, opening for the Jackson
Southernaires in Bakersfield, CA, singing a t Bishop Noel Jones V100 Worship Experience in Los
Angeles, CA and setting a positive example in Fresno CA, at the Macedonia Youth Explosion, just to
name a few. Heightened interest in The Covenant Messengers allowed them to host their first concert,
Christmas with The Covenant Messengers, at the St. John Baptist Church, in Bakersfield, CA. God has
also blessed them to be the 2007 Grand Prize Winners of the Christian Music Awards, hosted by Tye
Tribbett in Fresno, CA; to minister at the 100th Holy Convocation of the Churches of God in Christ in
Memphis, TN; and to minister at the House of Blues in Hollywood, CA.
Although The Covenant Messengers are not focused on popularity, the favor of God is obviously upon
these young men. They serve as a much needed positive force in our local communities, breaking
boundless stereotypes and providing other youth with an occasion to celebrate the possibilities
available to everyone willing to maintain a life of prayer, praise and discipline. Their message is, if you
remain in the Will of God, His covenant promises of victory, power, and success are yours.

The Selvy Singers
The Selvy's is a family gospelsinging group organized by their
parents, Mr. Jesse and Mrs.
Johnnie Selvy in 1988. The
group is apart of the American
Gospel Quartet Convention,
where pastors George and
Jacqueline Stewart are their
spiritual leaders. The group
has released their first full
project, entitled LIVE! YOU
AINT DEAD NO MORE
produced by AJ and Colette
Darby. I have had the
opportunity to see this group
sing and demonstrate their gift
of message first hand and
their performance is breath
taking…seriously. These woman
move like lightening and
tirelessly you have to see them
to believe it, I challenge you to
keep try and keep up with them
you WILL literally be out of
breath. This group has a strong
anointing on their life for
ministry and they do minister,
they have brought many to the
Lord during their performances.
They are also very entertaining
indeed and there is nothing
wrong with that. The skit that
they do when the perform one
of my favorite songs entitled
Dry Bones has a skit where they
throw a skeleton into the crowd. You
have to be in the audience to
experience the excitement felt by all

This free convention attracted such industry experts as Bobby Parker
Gospel Announcer/TV Host and owner of New Dimensions Promotions

We were only there for one day so I am giving you a small view of what
went on. The classes were very informative and free to the public. The
diversity of the audience is what I found to be exciting. It was really nice
to have representatives from other Christians that were of different race
and cultures in attendance. We all came together in unity. The guest
artist for the convention was Da’Truth.
All of the above contestant had the
audience on their feet. There were
many other groups as well that
participated in the convention.
At one time during the convention the Holy Spirit fell so heavily it turned
into a church service …seriously Duane Price allowed the Lord to really
use him to speak a word of encouragement to the audience that brought
the knowledge of the classes and purpose for attending this event
together. Don’t miss it next year.
