Stations of the Cross serve as an excellent way to tell the Good Friday story. The stations are places to stop and think about what is depicted in that scene at that place. There are typically fourteen or fifteen stations highlighting Jesus’ walk to the Cross. Mom & Dad: Please let your college student know that while home for their upcoming EASTER or spring semester breaks, if they've served as a Lector, Greeter, EOM, Altar Server or musician, we invite them to minister at weekend Mass while home. Good Friday, March 25 at 3:00pm Presented by the Knights of Columbus All parishioners are invited to each or any of these opportunities for this special devotion. Flames of Faith (Sanctuary Lamps and Adoration Chapel Candles) Intentions for the week of March 20: There is especially a need during Holy Week/ Triduum and on EASTER SUNDAY liturgies. They simply need to contact the ministry chair or the parish office (either one is preferred so we are aware of your availability), or just check with the sign-in minister in the Narthex before Mass to let them know that you are available to assist a ministry, if needed. For the choir, contact Mr. or Mrs. Stock directly for music and schedules. Remind them, that even though miles may separate us at various times in our lives, they are always in our thoughts and prayers. As part of our parish family, we welcome them home and encourage them to share their gifts and heart for service. Through clever examples and insightful stories, Ken reveals how each of us can obtain freedom from the burden of our sins through the forgiveness that is readily available in the Sacrament of Confession. Parishioner Comments: Struggling with confession? Ken, through this encouraging talk and effective storytelling shows us that it's God's idea, and it is good. I'll share this talk with anyone who'd trying to understand the sacrament of Reconciliation. Norm - Biloxi, MS Questions, please contact Mary Harmon (630) 470-9389 Questions of the Week First Reading: Isaiah 50:4-7 Second Reading: Philippians 2:6-11 The Passion of the Lord: Luke 22:14-23:56 or 23:1-49 1. The Suffering Servant in Isaiah put ultimate trust in God, “knowing that I will not be put to shame.” As a disciple, how do you trust God in difficult times. 2. God greatly exalted Jesus and gave him the Name above every name. How does your life witness that you regard the Name of Jesus as precious? 3. Jesus told the criminal that he would be with him in Paradise. This Holy Week, how can you transform abusive relationships in the families of your neighborhoods into ones of love and joy? Are we also like Peter and deny Christ over and over? Christ calls us to be all we can in our Marriage Sacrament. Dr. Hille Haker's presentation will highlight the analysis given by Francis, and spell out the New Covenant that Pope Francis proposes: a covenant between humans and the earth. Personal conversion, social change, and policies are needed to make the transformation to a sustainable lifestyle possible.
