HALLOWEEN HEADQUARTERS
Tricks or Treats – We’ve got ‘em all!
Allyson’s Halloween Tips and Ideas
Halloween parties are a great way to celebrate this spooky holiday for both
children and grownups. Preparing a fabulous feast for family and friends in a
well-decorated house is easy with a little pre-party planning! Here are a few
of my tips for a memorable Halloween, that’s all style and great value. Enjoy!
FREAKY FOOD IDEAS!
Eyeball Cup Cakes
Whip up a batch of mini cup cakes, then decorate
with black and orange icing. Wiltshire have a great 12
cup mini-muffin pan* that will do the trick. Just as the
icing is setting, press in some Oozing Eyeballs* (they
are jelly-filled marshmallows). Talk about getting into
the Halloween festive spirit! These gruesome looking
marshmallow treats are available at The Warehouse,
and are sure to please.

Slime Jellies
Ghostly Marshmallows
Make up a batch of yummy jelly and pour into some
acrylic glasses* from The Warehouse. They look
very decorative, and being plastic are just perfect
for little hands. When jelly is half set, push in some
festive lollies so they are partially submerged, then
return to the refrigerator until set. Try Gummy Body
Parts* or Vampire Teeth for some fun effects.
Pierce marshmallows with bamboo skewers* and
then dip them in melted white chocolate. Once
hardened, use melted dark chocolate to draw on
eyes, nose and mouth, then tie 4-5 together for
each child.
Swamp Punch with
Deadman’s Fingers
Spider Cake
Bake a delicious chocolate mud cake then have
fun creating a perfectly spooky finish with an icing
spider’s web. This is easy with the Wiltshire Cookie
& Icing Set*, topped with plastic spiders and other
creepy bugs found in our Toy aisle.
Sounds very ghoulish! Trick or treating is thirsty
work, so have a bowl of this fabulous fruit punch
ready for when the kids
return.
Half fill 4-5 disposable
gloves with a favourite fruit
juice and secure the base
with a twisty tie. Freeze over
night. The next day fill a punch
or large acrylic bowl* with juice
– one that is a different colour/
flavour to the juice used to fill the
gloves, along with some lemonade
and a little chopped fruit. Cut the
gloves if necessary to reveal frozen
juice in the shape of hands.
Add to the punch bowl – the
kids will love them!
TABLE IDEAS
OUTDOORS
Halloween Table
Devil’s Pathway
Decorate the table with a suitably eerie but simple
theme, for example a black table cloth*, black
dinner plates and platters* (found in our Home
and decor department). Light with candles and
turn up the spooky music. Encourage the kids to
draw ghosts or skeletons on paper napkins, and
write ghostly messages for each of the guests.
Candles lighting the pathway to your
door will look great and certainly add a
touch of spookiness to the evening. Sit them
safely in garden pot plants or metal buckets filled
with sand. You can spray the buckets black and
orange too. Tea-lights* are perfect, and you can
buy them in packs of 50 at The Warehouse.
