Halloween Celebratier at CUHK FAA Thomas Cheung Secondary
Halloween Celebratier at CUHK FAA Thomas Cheung Secondary School In October, two weeks before the Uniform Test, a number of activities were held at school in celebration of the Halloween. To create a carnival-like atmosphere, the campus was adorned with funky images of the principal and teachers who were shown as Halloween figures in different spooky backgrounds. During lunch, game booths designed by students were opened in the school hall. Many students were attracted by the language games for they knew that they could not only redeem prizes later with the stamps they received by finishing a game, but also learn English in an interesting way. The principal, English teachers and English ambassadors dressed up in Halloween costumes were as popular as pop stars since they carried a bucket of candies as treats for students who conversed with them in English. One of the highlights of the programme was the scary story telling time in a morning assembly. The scripts of students who won the Halloween Story Writing Competition were broadcasted. The works fully displayed the creativity of the winners and demonstrated to other students that Halloween stories should of course be horrifying, yet they can be inspirational too. Halloween, to TCSS students, is definitely less-than-terrifying but hilarious and educational.
