The VR engine was tweaked to 1 85k W

exhau.st ./low and the core VR Commodore 's
new .fi-ont suspension gave HSV engineers
scope to dial in extra grip and better
handling with a more compliant ride. New
Glencoe sports seats and the switch .fr"orn a
/VIomo to Nardi steering wheel ahead of the
intimate new dash, added a distinctive
European character to the VR. The step up
in rr;linement.fr"orn VP to VR was
noticeable. Like many sophisticated
pel}onnance cars twice or three times its
price, the VR Clubsport would cover ground
much faster than most drivers were aware,
making it a relaxing tourer and a more
predictable high speed track car but at the
cost qf.some driver involvement at Low

Editor's Note: As Bob Hall
has indicated, the 1-JSV drive
program was wt shorl to./it in
with Premier Kenneu 's
schedule, Limiting the
opportunities for the press to give
the new VT HSV range a jitlt work
out. But the new range got off to a
great start when Mr Kennell
accepted the a./fer of an extended drive
period with the new Senator after the
Launch, generating wide coverage. HSV
then made available the Lwgest jleet qj"

The difference is Mobil 1 .
M o b i l 1 is u n l i ke any other o i l . Being a fully
synthetic oil, it can operate i n all extre mes of
tem perature w h i lst e l i m i nating engine wear. I n fact the
Mobil 1 that you put i n your HSV, is exactly the same oil
used by the H o lden Race Tea m , M claren Mercedes
Form ula 1 , l ndycar and I nternational Touring Car race
teams to l u bricate their high performance vehicles.
So what does that mean for yo u r H SV? Mobil 1 's u n i q u e
properties offer unsu rpassed engine protection and
d u rab i l ity for the l ife of yo u r engine and can result i n
better fuel economy or increased horsepower, due to
less i nternal friction. O n ly one o i l can make a d ifference
to the performance of your HSV. Mobil 1 , the most
advanced engine o i l in the world .
