This fun league focuses on playing great hockey over the summer while achieving skill development in an instructional play environment. Players participate at the age group they are going into for the 2016/17 hockey season. All division levels are listed on our website and follow a strict “No Checking” policy. All 4-on-4 Hockey League players receive a league jersey with our cool logo to keep! Please note the IP program consists mainly of instructional activities vs. league play. Players from all associations are welcome. Coaches will be on the bench to instruct players. Contact us for more information! Register for Hockey School & Hockey League Together and SAVE 15% (9503) Midget 5-on-5 Hockey League (9501-6) We are introducing a 5-on-5 format on Sundays this summer, aimed at players who wish to try out for competitive hockey this coming season (Midget, Major Midget, High School and Junior). Open to ages 15 to 19, this will be a full-contact league; in order to participate, players must complete a Hockey Nova Scotia approved checking course. All coaches and officials will be certified. Prospective teams for the coming season will be in attendance at any given time. Our summer hockey school provides an opportunity for development and preparation for the upcoming hockey season. Players will participate in conditioning sessions on and off the ice, focusing on everything from puck-and-stick handling to power skating, as well as high-level goaltender training from elite goal tending instructors. DWMHA’s team of development coaches will challenge participants to set personal goals and help them put together a plan to achieve them. Don’t forget the popular dip in the pool to cool things off! July 11-15 WEEK 2 Time Travel We are going BACK IN TIME this week to see what fun and games looked like before we were born! Of course we will make sure we are back to the present day each day in time for an afternoon swim at Pirate's Cove! July 18 - 22 WEEK 3 Fun & Fitness Get ready to move! Whether we are swimming, running, playing games or dancing; this week is all about being active and doing all the things we love to do! July 25 - 29 WEEK 4 2016 Youth Corps! Programs will run in 2-week sessions and each program session will have a different focus of learning. Youth corps participants will also spend time working within the groups of day campers. This week, we will be checking out some epic downtown spots, learning a little more about the city and what makes Halifax such a great place to live! Uneven bars, trampoline, balance beams, tumbling mats, and vault are just some of the exciting equipment we will be working with this week. Come learn the fundamentals to Speed Skating though on-ice and off-ice instruction, ending each day with a swim in Pirate’s Cove! NOTE: Recommended ages for this program: 8 - 12 yrs. All camps include daily swims in our pools and on Pirate’s Cove (regular Pirate’s Cove regulations apply) and our Friday barbeques! Campers choosing to participate in the trips have until Friday at 5:00 pm (PRIOR TO the start of the camp week) to purchase the trip option.
