Portable Equine Nebulizer,
Equine Medicine: $1,675
The Flexineb provides targeted delivery of
metered-dose inhalers that can be completed
quickly, quietly, and effectively for horses
with respiratory problems like allergic airway
problems and heaves and COPD.
Veterinary student research award: $5,000
Supports a summer research internship for an
equine-focused veterinary student working on
equine research in partnership with a faculty
member. This money will be matched 1:1 to help an
additional student get hands-on
research experience.
Portable Ultrasound Probe,
Equine Medicine: $3,675
Hand-held probes allow the service's existing
ultrasound unit to be used for a wide variety of
applications including pregnancy checks and
gastrointestinal examinations in colic cases.
Saltwater Spa, Equine Orthopedics: $94,500
The Nautilus Spa is an equine therapy tool that has
been designed and engineered to assist in the
treatment and prevention of lower leg injuries and
disease. It is the only spa that utilizes both hot and
cold bubbling salt water therapies; optional
vibrating plate adds to the equipment’s therapeutic
uses for an additional $2,600.
Handheld reader allows clinicians to quickly to
quickly measure the latest blood marker of
disease (SAA) - protein produced in the liver
that can indicate inflammation - for the purpose
of diagnosing infections and measuring effects
of treatment.

A standing CT scan eliminates the need for
anesthesia and lying the horse down, making
diagnosis of head issues quicker and safer for our
equine patients and more cost effective for owners.
Technology and tools to teach students to develop
and master laparoscopic surgery including
instruments, practice models, HD scope, sutures
and training videos.
Equine colic simulator: $21,600
Life-size horse model with interchangeable parts to
teach students about palpation for colic and
pregnancy checks. Horse owners and other
community members will also learn through use at
events and lectures.

Lameness Locator Sensors,
Equine Orthopedics: $1,070
The Lameness Locator® System is a real-time,
field-based system that enables veterinarians to
objectively identify and quantify lameness in
horses using wireless sensors and
handheld display.
Vascular access simulator: $2,000
This simulator provides anatomically correct and
realistic training to teach students to draw blood
and insert an IV catheter.
Above Ground Aqua Treadmill,
Equine Orthopedics: $115,000
An above ground treadmill is an equine therapy
tool that has been designed to help horses recover
from injury 50-60 times faster than routine medical
care. Hydrostatic pressure enhances blood flow
and reduces swelling, which in turn contributes to
accelerated healing and reduced recovery time.

Equine Medicine: $17,220
With extra length and 270 degree field of view,
equipment allows clinicians to look inside the
stomach and other areas to more comprehensively
identify abnormalities such as gastric ulcers.
Arthroscopy System, Equine
Orthopedics: $87,100
Comprehensive endoscopic system that provides
hi-definition images and video, with a tablet that
gives clinicians the tools to manage images and
provide patient education.
Coat of Excellence Program
All Services: $10,000
Your tax-deductible gift enables you to name a
coat in honor of a special faculty member, resident,
or intern. The coat will be embroidered with the
name of the recipient as well as your animal's
name. Funds will support the honoree, their service
area, and the larger Veterinary Hospital.
