Training Students in the Knowledge of God and the Christian Way of Life
to
the
many
Canterbury
Students who participated either as candidates or as
campaign managers in this year’s RTS (“Raise the
Standards”) Student Council Elections which were held
today.
Election results will be announced tomorrow
morning in the Chapel service!
Kudos to Miss Chaw and the Second Grade Class
for their excellent presentations in Chapel two
weeks ago! Even a child is known by his doings,
whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
(Proverbs 20:11).
“Thank You” to the Anonymous Family which underwrote
the new LED kitchen lighting installed over the Washington
Birthday Recess. As impossible as might seem to be, LEDtechnology furnishes better quality lighting while at the
same time reducing power consumption.
This lowers
monthly electricity bills while delaying the need to construct
expensive new power plants. The new LED lights have an
expected 20-year service life.

Thank God For The Rain!!!
Canterbury’s Rain Gauge recorded 2-3/16 inches of
rain yesterday. This brings the 2014 total rainfall to
date to 4-11/16 inches of precious life-giving water!

As most of you know, a very large tree one block
up El Monte Avenue from Canterbury fell down
yesterday morning in the rain. Power was out all
day as crews worked hard to restore service!
We thank the Almighty that no one was injured
by the falling tree – and that no one was hurt at
school as we operated in “the dark.” Here are a
few photo highlights from the event…

Yet another reason why Canterbury
graduates do so well in math goes
back to the current understanding of
how the human brain works. If
studies are indeed correct, the left
side of the brain is that portion
given to memorization and repetition
while the right side of the brain is
given to analysis and problem solving.
Canterbury’s math curriculum is

and application skills and taught, practiced, and mastered – beginning with the
concepts of missing facts, necessary facts, and extra facts. Built upon this
comes the steps of the problem-solving process.

ATTENTION, PARENTS!!
The parking lot is a very dangerous place! When your
children are released to you at the end of the day, please
do not let them meander among the cars! Canterbury
rules established for the safety of its students still apply.
And teachers are not permitted to release other
students to you unless this has first been coordinated
through the office. If by 3:20 pm your children have not
been picked up, it is the policy of the school to route
them into the extended care program. We are trying to
maintain a safe and ordered environment for the good
of everyone involved.
