The Walk Away Scheme - what does it really mean?
The Walk Away Scheme - what does it really mean?
Research has shown that the anxiety of moving house can be one of the most stressful events in your life. Service families move an average of
once every three years so it’s important that CarillionAmey do their best to lessen the stress and make your move from one Service Family
Accommodation property to another as smooth as it can be.
One of the ways we can do this is by offering families the Walk Away Scheme, your insurance for being able to walk away from your property, as long as you’ve
paid for it and have done what you need to under the scheme. If you have you won’t be charged at Move Out for cleaning. However, if there is damage to your
property or garden charges still apply.
The scheme is voluntary and includes many different options for families to choose – just choose the option that appeals to you the most – and the one that suits
your pocket.
Inside the House
You can choose a basic clean
(prices dependent on the size of
your property) and then add extra
elements, such as the cleaning of the
cooker, carpets and curtains. If you
have pets you can add the insecticide
treatment for the whole house.
How much does it cost?
You can talk to your
Accommodation Officer who will go
through all the details with you and
explain exactly what is included.
You can also check out prices on
our website at www.carillionamey.

Outside in the Garden
The same principle applies. You can opt to include the garden element of
the scheme, again prices depend on the size of your garden. You can opt
to have grass cut, weeding, pruning of plants, hedges and trees and the
clearing away of all rubbish and debris. However, CarillionAmey does not
remove fly tipping rubbish, for this you will incur a charge if it has not been
removed.
Once you have decided which
option suits you, send an email to
[email protected]
giving details of your name, address,
contact details and a member of our
Walk Away team will contact you,
arrange payment and send you a
certificate.
