The Animal Welfare Society is a private, nonprofit humane society
incorporated in 1967. The Animal Welfare Society cares for
more than 3,300 lost and homeless animals each year and is
the municipal shelter for 21 communities in Southern Maine.

The Animal Welfare Society, a non-profit organization, exists to
provide humane shelter and care to companion animals temporarily in need of housing, to assist in disaster response, and to
further the cause of responsible animal adoption and ownership
through education and public awareness. The society actively
promotes kindness, the elimination of cruelty to and neglect of
all animals, and the lifelong commitment of people to their pets.

Happy Birthday!
Hosting your child’s birthday party at AWS is easy, affordable, messfree and full of learning opportunities...not to mention fun with
animals! Each birthday party receives a tour of the adoption center,
including interacting with many animals.
Some children even ask that their guests bring donations for the
animals in lieu of gifts for themselves. Such a generous gift is greatly
appreciated!
What you should bring:
•Parents are responsible for providing refreshments and
cake for the party
• Please remember to bring all paper goods and utensils
• Food can be delivered, if you wish
• Please leave pets at home
Booking Policy:
Please book early, as spaces fill quickly!
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve
your party. Every attempt will be made to reschedule parties
cancelled due to inclement weather or illness.
Choose from two types of
birthday parties:
AWESOME Birthday Party ($150)**
Includes:
• Shelter tour, including interaction with animals
• Use of the festively decorated humane education room
for two hours
• Birthday child and 9 guests (adults are free)
• Animal-related game
• Take-home craft
• Birthday child’s photo with their favorite animals
Birthday BONANZA Party ($200)**
Includes:
• ALL of the AWESOME Birthday Party Benefits
• Favor bag for every child
• Animal-related gift for the birthday child
• Birthday child has opportunity to name an animal being
made available for adoption
**Up to five additional guests can be invited with a charge of
$7 per child for the AWESOME Birthday Party or $9 for the
Birthday BONANZA Party.
