Lovett Stovall is a national social change trailblazer, influential political
strategist, and entrepreneur who was born June 5, J 940 on Atlanta's
south-side; and
WHEREAS,
Lovett Stovall spent his youth in the historic Pittsburgh Community and
is a proud alumnus of Luther Judson Price High School class of 1959;

Lovett Stovall began his work as a community and political dynamo
where he championed economic and education equality, assisted in
organizing the restructuring of the Fulton County and Georgia Young
Democrats to engage youngpeople across Georgia in the political
process and servedon the State Dernocrutic Party Executive Committee
earning him the Young Man of the Year Community Service Award;

WHEREAS,
as a formidable political strategist, Lovett Stovall was instrumental in
electing numerous political leaders, including the historic elections of 4
out of 5 African American Mayors of Atlanta, and ill 1976, Mr. Stovall
became a leader in the National Peanut Brigade, campaigning in
numerous states for the election of President Jimmy Carter; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Stovall was a Special Advisor to Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson
for 12 years where he spearheaded engagement programs, housing
opportunities, youth leadership programs, summer jobs. and the IjJ~1
Atlanta citywide Christmas Party, which collectively served over 20,000
metro Atlanta residents; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Stovall who has been married to Nancy Cater Stovall since 1964 has
three daughters and seven grandchi ldren;

NY from 1999-2005 before being appointed as Pastor of
First Tabemacle-Atlanta, Georgia in May 1,2005 by
Rabbi Jehu August Crowdy, Jr.; and

First Tabernacle is a part of the Church of God and Saints of
Christ/Temple Beth EL and the congregation is the oldest and
ifthe largest congregation in the Atlanta area practicing the
Hebrew faith; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Roberts leads his church to be a light through multiple
outreach ministries including initiatives include, Feeding the
Homeless, Bible Study, Community Outreach/Membership
Growth and Building Fund /Property Development; and
WHEREAS,
a man of service, Elder Roberts is married to Mrs. Ovella
(Williams) Roberts and has three children - Akilah, George,
and. Sarnira; and
WHEREAS,
Elder Kenneth Anthony Roberts is a selfless shepherd
committed to guiding his congregation in a belief system
supporting a belief in one God, reverence for the 7th day
Sabbath and love of our fellowman;

Gladys Maria Knight, was born May 28, 1944 in Oglethorpe, Georgia to
loving parents. Merald Knight, Sr. and Elizabeth (Woods), who instilled
the value of education and planted the seed for the love of gospel music;
and
WHEREAS,
Gladys Knight's singing abilities were first recognized when, at the
tender age of seven, she won the Ted Mack's Original Amateur
Hour TV Show contest, starting a trend that has led to her winning four
coveted Grammy awards and many more honors recognizing her
talents; and
WHEREAS,
Gladys Knight grew up to become ,1 successful recording artist,
songwriter, businesswoman, humanitarian and author; lind
WHEREAS,
Gladys Knight's contributions to R&B, smooth soul, pop soul, soft
rock, gospel, funk, and doc-wop music can be attributed to her gospel
upbringing that included singing with her family in church and later 011
the chitlin' Circuit; and
WHEREAS,
Gladys Knight, along with her brother Merald, her sister Brenda, and
cousins, formed the legendary musical group named "The Pips' (named
after another cousin, James "Pip" Woods); and
WHEREAS,
a worldwide musical sensation, Gladys Knight continues to honor her
home state every time the world-renowned song, "Midnight Train to
Georgia," is played on the radio Or performed during a concert; and

Ms. Gladys Knight has been recognized by the State of Georgia with a

WHEREAS,
Joshua Jayanth Gundugollu is a member of Boy Scout Troop 3143 and is a junior at
Northview High School where he is 11 member of the Indian Football League, the Math
Team, the Marching Band and the Ultimate Frisbee Team; and
WHEREAS,
Joshua Jayanth Gundugollu has excelled in many areas of scouting, with achievements
including serving as a Troop Guide, an- Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and being the
recipient of the Order of the Arrow (2012), the 50-NIiIer Award (2013) and the Polar
Bear Camper Award (2012); and
WHEREAS,
Joshua Jayanth Gundugollu has satisfied the strenuous requirements necessary to attain
the rank of Eagle Scout, including leading his team to construct 2 tables and 4 benches
for Jesse's House, an emergency shelter that provides care to adolescent girls who have
been subject to abuse; and
WHh'REAS,
Joshua Jayanth Gundugollu will be recognized by friends, family and fellow BQy Scouts
for his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor Ceremony on
Sunday, June 21,2015 at Johns Creek United Methodist Church;
